I've been thinking about this a whole lot and I think that the three most manly exercises are the squat, chinup, and overhead press. The other 3 most manly exercises are Deadlift, Barbell Rows, and Dips. Then for useful exercises to assist in the accomplishment of manliness I recommend hanging leg raises and pullovers.
Anybody who squats double their bodyweight for multiple repetitions is pretty strong. Anybody who overhead pressesmore thantheir bodyweight for mulitple repetitions is likewise really strong, and anybody who does chins with half their bodyweight on a belt is ridiculously strong. I can only do one of these feats which is embarassing to say the least, but hopefully one day I will be truly manly.

You put too much thought into it.
Weighted chins, weighted dips, and a huge bench press. End of question.

Bodybuilding exersizes aren't manly in nature. That's Strongman stuff for your more manly stuff
-
Manliest exercises are Deadlifts, Squats, and Clean and Press.
You can easily distinguish manly exercises by the lack of men performing them.

u didn't put men in quotation marks >:(

The Cock push-up is the most manly exercise. Anyone who can lift their body weight with an erection is a true man. Unfortunately its impossible to do this for reps.
Gotta give credit to Tenacious D for this one.

One I always use is lying pelvic thrust with a 125lb female on top while drinking a Guiness from a dirty glass....for 112 reps. ;D
Will post vids soon! ::)

Deadlift, squat and I'm not sure of the other. Overhead press maybe. Benching is just gay
-
manly exercises per definition are those women dont do. since there's plenty of females competing in body powerlifing and weightlifting we can rule out those exercises.
top 3 manly excercises are:
barbell shrugs.
decline dumbbell presses.
dumbbell pullovers.

Women do the same exercises as men. No such thing as a "manly" exercise.
-
Inner thigh, outer thigh, and butt blaster.
-
Clean and jerk, snatch, deadlift, strict overheadpress, benchpress, barbell rows, squats.
More than 3 but these are the manliest.

Clean and Jerk.
Deadlift.
Pull Up.
* Honorable mention goes to the old school Olympic Press.
You can get a lot done as far as strength and size with those three.
-
Holding a wieght between spread legs and squatting comes to mind
-
running with a sled in the parking lot.
Don't forget lumberjackin, moving rocks, and running through quad deep Russian snow with a log on your shoulders.
-

how the fuck does bench make it in this list? bench press is no more manly than any other press(military, incline, decline)
squats, deads, clean press, clean jerk >>>> whole body exercises that generate enormous amounts of energy are manly, not
laying down and doing a upside down pushup

These ball squat vids are like Coach bait.
To be honest, I've never tried. I'm primarily interested in strength and hypertrophy. It looks like a great way to land on your head.

I don't advocate it nor would I recommend it...... BUT, that's a pretty good indication of a good athlete.

This a good thread, so I won't clog it up with a debate about what constitutes athleticism.
It's less manly than any exercise which involves a log. There's no debating that.
