when on a diet. Sure ultimately it's about the caloric deficit but every now and then when I have the will power and the time I go a day or two on NO card (not low carb) and boy the fat just melts away. For example today I just had a bunch of Zero Carb shakes, steak, eggs and thunafish....when I do this I just can feel the fat melting away by keeping the insulin so low...anyone else have this experience?

zig zagging right now. 2 days 0 carbs, 1 day high, 2 days 0 carbs, 2 days high. at first it was tough but I got used to it when I started to see the results.

Hmm...interesting...I usually stay between 50 and 150 grams...but today I had nothing to do so...
My main worry on prolonging no carb days (and I don't mean 10 or 20 grams but NO carbs) is the lack of fruit and vegetables, which have so many good vitamins and anti-oxidants in them...
So is that zigzagging working for you?

I lost about 20lbs of fat on TKD.

that zig zaging of yours is not long enough should do 5-6 days 50 carbs or less.as far as not geting fruit or veg on theses days get a good fiber supp, you'll be fine.

Don't kid yourself. A reduction in carbs causes a reduction in stored water. This amazing weight loss you are experiencing on your low carb diet is initially most all water. Weight loss and fat loss are two different things.

Yup, yet people still jump up and down with excitement over the scale weight. i.e. they don't understand weightloss and fatloss are two different things. Two people can lose the exact same amount of weight, but depending on what they lose (muscle, fat. water) their body composition will be different. There are lots of factors that determine whether you are going to lose water, fat or muscle, so I won't even get into that now, but It's safe to say most people would be better off throwing away their scales and getting a full length mirror. The mirror never lies.

I wasn't jumping up and down for that but rather for the release of glucagon and the suppression of insulin...
