Seriously why do his arms look so smooth? and whats the blue spot on his left bicep? did he tear it?

We haven't seen Ronnie yet and I'm not a Jay basher either, I just hope the best man wins and no politics come into play. Jay does look a tad smooth here. We shall see.

Yeh i want to make it clear i respect jay he's a great bber, just IMO i thought he would bring a much tighter package to the O to defend his title, yes theres still 1 more day to tighten up etc, but will the judges finally not be able to over look jays lack of separation in his upper body, which makes his physique very un balanced. Ronnie came in bigger fuller and dry in 1999 i would expect the same from Jay, but sadly it doesn't seem to be the case. IMO there are alot of other bbers that display much better quality muscle then jay, ie dex, vic, wolfe, and mel all have the capability to beat jay. I hope the judges mix things up a bit this year.

So many talk about nebulous things re judging. No wonder the whole scene is confused. Get back to the basics. Size, proportions, balance, definition, overall impression minus defects, etc. Way too much is placed upon conditioning. WTF is that all about? Who started this nonsense? When comparing Ron and Jay start at the top and work down front, back and sides. Clearly, Jay is superior in calves. End of contest if the rest of their physiques are comparable. I suppose the only thing the judges agree about is conditioning. Yep, that pretty well is an indictment of most judges and the whole sport. They have distorted what bodybuilding is all about because they long ago gave up trying to separate competitors along the traditional lines. Dorian won with a torn biceps, Ron won with suspect calves, and so the sorry story goes. It just is not good enough but the professionals show up, keep their mouths shut, and take whatever is dished out to them. Talk about a crazy sport.

He told the guy standing infront of me at his table he just started dropping his water at the show. It doesn't matter how he looks there, its how he looks on stage the next night.

There will be this same exact thread next yr as jay goes for no. 3!
This same thread happened last yr to as jay looked exactly the same if not smoother 1 day out!
hes not mr olympia because hes nailed his condition the day before or the day after the show, he nails it exactly ontime!

I think that Victor also looks soft, but he has great lines and symmetry. The current version of Ronnie does not have great lines but he gets into great condition.
My prediction is that if Victor ever wins he will be criticized for being smooth. Some people like Jay and Victor cannot get the Ronnie or Dorian look no matter how low their bodyfat gets.

Even though Jay has never been known to have a lot of veins, you don't have to flex to be able to see separation and maybe a couple of striations. If Jay really is in the 280's then he is way too heavy. Ronnie in the 260's "should" be shredded. We shall see. :)

In the Fox 5 interview posted in another thread, Jay claims to be "under 3% body fat right now". If he's at 3% then "onlyme" finally is under 50% ::)
