Dorian Yates, Flex Wheeler, Shawn Ray, Kevin Levrone, Paul Dillett and Lee Priest. :'(
-
no comparison, that is too bad. there were a few others that were good to.
-
No shit, the golden age of bodybuilding, honestly against that lineup the only guys of today I could see in the top are Wolf and Victor. The IFBB should reinstate Lee immediately, his "suspension" is bullshit.
-
compare to this:
its sad.
-
Dorian Yates, Flex Wheeler, Shawn Ray, Kevin Levrone, Paul Dillett and Lee Priest. :'(
Nowhere near, but it is a very competitive show to try to place with the types of physiques this year. I don't know that we'll ever see an era like that again. You also had Nasser, Francois (briefly), Porter, and Cormier then.
-
i agree. this years olympia is a major disappointment. bodybuilding right now sucks. not ONE of the competitors onstage looks as good as the bodybuilders of the past. everyone symmetry and aesthetics is ruined by the current drug trends.
SAD... :'(
I agree for aesthetics the 1980s ruled, for excitement the 1990s ruled.
The pro side of the sport does seem to have reached burn out in this day and age ...... :(
-
Kevin Levrone Ruled! ;D
-
also include Charles and Sonny from back in the day.
-
synthol and other "site" inject drugs have ruined it
-

that and insulin which makes everyone of them smooth
-
Dorian Yates, Flex Wheeler, Shawn Ray, Kevin Levrone, Paul Dillett and Lee Priest. :'(
Not even close.
-
Jay is a mr O is a joke guys from the 90's looked/look so much better I cant believe what I see, this years mr O is a disgrace
-
We need some comparison pictures.
Lets say 1995 Vs. 2007.
-
99 vs 07:
-
the huge difference i see is dryness.. they shoot so much "site" inject drugs(not just synthol) that it smooths them out... theres plenty of other site inject drugs not mentioned on this board that have become popular. thats the year flex admitted to his synthol abuse.
-
this is a good thread. and for all the talk about phil he probably would have been out of the top 6 with this line up. If Kevin, Flex or Shawn was willing to become a human pin cushion again...he could steal an O crown now. I'm glad I skipped Vegas for this one.

Phil heath is absolutely kicking himself right now.
the judges were probably praying for a non-injured, non-synthol poster boy to crown.

check out Ronnie 2005 even compared to Ronnie 2007:
-
ronnie's chest, abs, thighsweep, delts all downhill..
but he is 43. we must not forget this.
-
'99 is a good comparison, but a lot of guys that year were using synthol :-\

Also dont forget that Vince Taylor is much older, and still looks btter than Ronnie, i mean he still got the 90s look
-
Throw out the politics and put in Lee at 100% where would he place?
-

but he had a nice long break.
Ronnie has kept going non stop.

Beckles had a LONGER run and still never suffered for it .

other than placing 15th all the time.. ::)
no one is denying the greatness of Beckles or Taylor.
but like I said, you are comparing apples to oranges here.
Like most other things around here, you just lack the basic common sense and intelligence to see it..

Hey idiot what part of being second best in the world didn't you get? and we're NOT comparing apples & oranges you dummy we're comparing ages and how guys looked at that age , you're using Ronnie's AGE as an excuses , I pointed out many guys a LOT older who didn't look as bad as Ronnie .
-
but you don't understand. (gee how rare).. :-\
you can't just look at age and physique without looking at competitive history, success rate, gaps between competitions etc etc.
you really are not that smart. if you did you would quickly realize that you are comparing
apples to oranges..

Moron you're using Ronnie's age as an excuse for the way he looks ! thats apples compared to apples period , you're the dumbest person on these boards bar none

Most are TOP 5 and top 10 placings how that? EIGHT PRO WINS the gap in between years competing ONE YEAR 1974 he was MUCH OLDER than Coleman and never looked half as bad as Coleman , so moron DO NOT use age as an excuse because its NOT ONE
-
wow. he placed near the bottom of the top 10 in a million grand prix shows.
like I said, apples to oranges..

Hulkster I know what you said and its still proven dead wrong , you're using Ronnie's age as an excuse for his appearance and its NOT an excuse did Al Beckles look as bad as Ronnie at and even older age? NO you're proven wrong , stop crying
Ronnie Coleman looks like garbage and its NOT because he's 43 ;)
-
Is ND always this annoying?

Is ND always this right?
yes ;)

No being right annoys people ;)

One of the reasons that these guys suck at the Olympia compared to the 90's is that the top 10 requalify and can just prep for the next year. I know this is no excuse for Jay but for a lot of other guys this is the case.
Secondly, they need to actually worry about how they look as opposed to how much of an insulin balloon they can become. Everybody had to catch Ronnie and this is the end result.
-
ronnie's chest, abs, thighsweep, delts all downhill..

you are so pathetic.
you act like someone forced ronnie onstage while he looked like that.
most pros have the sense to get out while they still look good.
by the way, ronnie never beat dorian or never matched his shape throughout his career.
by the way, why such a difference in pictures from the 99 olympia?
-
by the way, ronnie never beat dorian or never matched his shape throughout his career.
keep telling yourself that.
you and two others are the only people stupid enough to insist that.
and those pics are from 98. and his 99 shots looked just as good if not better, fucking idiot: ::)
