I would love to hear about somebodys OVERALL olympia experience this yr. Is it worth the $$$ to go?
Just curious, thanks, Howard

It's not worth much to write about. Kamali could have place Top 10. This O could have got him back in the game with his sponsor.

Judging from the quality this year I would not have been too happy if I'd have paid $500 for my VIP seat. There is no way that's even worth the money on a good day.
You can see a concert from the greatest bands in the world for a quarter of that.

Considering the stage looked like it was just a prop used from a grammar school play and the judges could not even pronounce Yamagishi's name, I would say no

The Mr. Olympia has always been over-hyped - over-priced and the Weider cheesy factor has always been in the mix -it no longer has the feel of an international event since settling down in Las Vegas - although the first couple of years at Madalay Bay
had a spark of excitement that has been lacking since the turn of the century

Thanks for the info everyone, I susected it has gone down hill since being at the Orleans, I prfer the Colorado Pro , ASC and am considering on the going to the Ironman next FEB 2008.
Where can I get ticket ino for the 2008 IM pro show?
-
This years "O" I attended only because I live in Vegas. I was very disappointed with the convention.
-
The Show was pretty good though. They should have used all 3 overhead screens for us in the back that can't affore $500 a ticket. I paid $200, and thought more camera's and using the screens for the show rather than advertising would have been great.

For me, it was definately worth it....all I had to pay for was the flight and hotel!!
Rob Wilkins got the IFBB to give active duty military members and one guest free tickets to all the Olympia events....expos for both days, tickets to all the shows!!
I had a great time!

Hey big J, I am thrilled that the millitary folks got a pass, that is awesome.

YES.
BUT, let me qualify that - if MuscleTech is going to stay in the business of buying titles, I will not be attending any of the show portions, just the Expo.
-
I couldn't tell, cause I did not attend it this year. But I would have been dissapointed if I was there, especially the way this MR O was crowned. As for the O expo, it will always be second to the Arnold's. Ain't nothing like the Columbus Crowd

Arena prejudging and finals was way overpriced as far as I am concerned.
Here's the view from a $130 seat.

Moved down a couple of rows
-
I wouldn't mind going just for the exhibitions and free samples/goodies
