Title: Saline or silicone?
Post by: Nicrah on October 02, 2007, 03:17:04 PM
Hey there my wife asked me to post this up. She is a amateur bodubuilder and mma fighter. She is 5'10 - 180lbs. She is getting a breast enhancement in November. She will be going from 36 C to a D cup or a little larger. Since her pectoral muscles are so developed and dense her surgeon said they will have to put the implant above the muscle rather than under it. She wanted to get all of your advice before she chooses her type of implant. If anyone has any expierence please let us know your opinion.

i suggest subfascial placement with silicone. Less rippling and it has more coverage that just being places above the pec muscle

Saline sucks, they leave scars underneath the tits. Sure, it looks more real, but the scars are hideous.

I have Saline and am just pleased as ever...very very small line in the crease "underneath the tits", as Danielson would say. No hideous scars on me and I'm not blind...I also went under the muscle 650cc's.

Ok, that's all the personal business i putting out for one night ;)

I don't have them myself, not yet anyway, but I agree 100% with this, esp if she trains as a BB.

do you mean silicone?  Saline is not prefilled and requires a smaller incision. Silsone is prefilled and requires a larger scar. With that said I have 600 cc silicone and my scar is tiny and around aureola not under the breast. I have no idea how the dr got it in but he did

Well, one of them is put in through the belly button and the other under the breast. Whichever one leaves the scars(i.e not the belly button) is unsightly imo.

there was a post earlier about this sort of thing.  Silicon is the way to go.  As far as the scar, that is more the doctor's skill than the type of impplant.  If scarring is a concern, she can go through the armpit or belly button.

I'm going against the grain and suggest that she doesn't do the surgery.  How serious is she with the MMA?   Has she considered/discussed the possibility of traumatic rupture with her doctor?  Its something to think about....

***And I will say that I am biased, I prefer a woman with natural breasts, so you can take or leave my opinion however you like.   ;)

They are not cutting the underside of the breast anymore Danielson unless they are doing a major lift, they are making incisions around the areola and going in through there, thus eliminating that anchor like scar.

Hey Laura, if you are going to censor me, just delete me please. I was just trying to be helpful, everyone knows what silicone looks like and you can see the Doctors best saline work on his/her site I imagine, but I was showing a real saline boob job. I guess that was to graphic for a girl board.  ::)

danielson, it was me that deleted your pic as this board isn't supposed to have nudity.  They did look really good though, maybe you could just x out the nipples and repost it...then it would qualify as "not nudity"  :)

I had my job done in Feb. of 2002...the doctor did go under the breast and let me tell you it was not lift, just a nice bag of Saline in both (650cc's...actually thought it was 750 but happened to recently look at my paperwork). You can not even see the scar...seriously. I love my Saline although i do believe Silicone is coming back.

Oh yes, by the way, this doctor does not do outpatient procedures...i had an overnight stay at a local hospital and was treated just like anyone else there...sick or just being plain vane (in my case)...irony of it all was that Hans (the boyfriend) died in the same hospital little over a year later.

Call me a weirdo, but I personally would rather see small/tiny naturals than huge fake breasts, be it silicone or saline. An athletic woman with smallish natural breasts looks way more natural to me than one with biggish fake breasts.

Yea mine USED to look like that until i got pregnant and nursed for a year then gained weight and lost weight...i'm glad i got mine done. Besides, being tall and having C's didn't look so hot...now i'm proportionate in my opinion and people think mine are real only because they fit my body perfectly.

Please don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing you for having breast implants, I just personally don't find them that attractive.   My mother in law has them (post bilateral radical mastectomy for breast cancer) and I'll be honest, she's in great shape for a woman who is nearly 60, but its really weird to me for her breasts to be as perky as my wife's are adn I had a hard time adjusting to her bigger cup size (she went from a big B to a BIG C post surgery).

LOL.  The smartest thing a man can ever do is look at a womans mother critically when they are first dating.  Its rare an apple falls far from the tree.   ;)

i've had a girlfriend with saline implants, they took some getting used to, as in i think they were built for speed; on the other side of the coin my current love interest has silicone and i have to say they feel more natural, definately built for comfort. in the end you have to decide what's right for you!
