Ronnie could have easliy been a 10 time Mr. O. He was light years ahead of the competition that all he had to do was maintain his shape. He got a little sloppy with the gut and well you know the rest. I know that a bodybuilders goal is to improve year after year but at one point he was untouchable. He should have just clicked his body into cruise control and dominate for a few more years.

He was still better than the fridge. at least Ron has arms.

Or the keg, same difference.
Ya too bad Coleman didn't get in to it earlier, in his 20s.

I'd have him do 200 pound dumbell presses on the swissball and then try to squat 500 pounds while balancing on it. lol. Just so you know slim. I ran the gym at my university during my college years. I trained the trainers and lots of the football guys in which I was one. Wow. That is the most personal info I have ever written on GB. Enough of that Dr. Phil now.

agreed.
no one has been 257-260 and had this kind of shape and detail:
at least not yet.

still wouldnt have mattered.
he was still a top pro in the 90's, but folded under the competition.
after yates retired, the top guys were tired and didnt feel like going all out again - they tried and failed for 7 years.
ronnie was never close to beating dorian so he wasnt as tired as flex, nasser, shawn, etc.
ronnie took the advantage of the opportunity. (that and no one else was using chad's plasma expanders).

agreed.

yates was dryer and harder than ronnie was in whatever year or what ronnie weighed.

in some areas like the lower back and abs, yes.
but there is more to an untouchable physqiue than that.
dorian lacked the shape of Ronnie, and had piss poor arms and quads by comparison.
now kindly fuck off and take it to the truce thread.

Ronnie was the best even Jay has said that. End of story!

Hulkster, are those black and white Ronnie pics taken right after the 2001 Arnold?

no, there was a set of Ronnie shots taken during the 99 olympia as they appeared in the 99 Mucle and fitness olympia coverage.
I believe these are from the 99 olympia shoot:

I believe these are from the AC shoot:
his condition at the 99 olympia was very similar to his AC shape, it is hard to tell the two sets of shots apart:

Actually, it's very easy to diagnose what happened to Coleman: he got overconfident and let his competitors catch up to him. According to Ronnie himself, he took 5 months of rest after the 2005 Olympia. Adding up the fact that pre-contest lasts for 3 months, it basically means that Coleman entered the 2006 Olympia with only 4 months of off-season training. This despite the fact that Gay Gutler had pushed him to the limit in 2005, and had surpassed Ronnie in back thickeness and width - and Gutler was already superior to Coleman in two of the three front mandatories as well as the side triceps. I don't understand how Coleman could take 5 months of rest after the Olympia considering that this was his historical opportunity to break the record. Wtf?! :-\ He should have trained like a madman without taking even a single day of break after the Olympia and doubled his drug doses since this was the great chance to become the winningest Mr.Olympia ever, and also because his age meant that every year he would decline and breaking the record would become harder.

it isn't so much the gut why he didn't win the last two, everybody has a gut these days, it's the lack of symmetry and the pinched nerve.
