Ok, so it seems like everyone here is sick of the stripper routines these guys are doing at the olympia, but most will agree that heavy metal and most rock is hard to put together a good routine to. Some of the classical routines can also be very boring. I know a bunch of you have seen this video before (Dennis Newman 1993 Nationals), but what do you think of guys posing to songs like this. The music seems a little fruity to me, but I also think it works well with the routine. Just wondering. By the way, in my opinion, his for here would be good enough to win an olympia (or get 5th place ;D) today!

Excellent! They don't come like that any more...

Did you think it worked out ok with the 80's music, and would a guy be able to pull of the same routine with the same music today and make it look cool?

Agreed. The first time I watched it i thought the music was kinda cheesy, but after seeing it a few more times, I think it turned out really well. I saw Chris Cook pose to usher "yeah" at the 04 USA and people were bored, but at the nationals he posed to "I love rock and roll" by joan jett and people went nuts. Im thinking a little bit of cheesy 80s music may be just what the IFBB needs. God knows they don't need anymore stripping and booty shaking, its getting REALLY old.

It was fine then, and it's even better today.
There's also this other clip (posted often on here) of Bob Paris posing to "Baby Can I hold you tonight"... Very captivating posing routine!!!

Paris had one of the greatest classic pro physiques, EVER.
It is pretty sad when some use his sexuality as a reason to discredit him.

Nice routine; hit some nice poses.
Wow, and he was 23 years old at the time!!! (I'm 23, damn).
He looks GREAT in this shot:
-
Good routein, but missed his que's on his music, flawless physique and should have won that.

As if sexual orientation were reason enough to discredit anyone... (Except for the Catholic Church, it is reason enough to discredit seminarian from the priesthood)...

Hard to believe that a physique like that took 2nd at Nationals. Put the 1993 Dennis on any pro stage nowadays and he would clean up. The 2007 version...not so much.
-
posing is gay.

Newman was awesome - was a shame he got ill - would have been nice to have seen him reach his genetic potential and compete in the Olympia.
