Sure Father Time but there were other more important factors, the most important of which is the massively heavy weights he used. They put tremendous strain on him and obviously led to the injuries he had. The other factor was his mass. With some juice and years of training he could look good at even 50, just not at an unnatural 285 lbs. He burnt himself out...that's what happened.

Exactly. To last long you need to be small, inactive and eat little. Every energy used wears on the body through it's chemical processes and impurities such as free radicals it leaves behind. Good luck and have fun.
Hope this helps!

pure genius, how much time did you take to figure it out?

No time but everyone here is running around saying it was only age....hardly.
-
ronnie lost because of himself no one outclassed him or beat him when on they only beat him because he was off
-
I agree Ronnie still could have won this year.
Even with the injuries if he had nailed everything right
like he did after the Olympia last year at the Dutch Grand
Prix; we would be looking at 9 time Mr. Olympia.

When I look at 06 pics, I canīt believe Jay won so dominantly on the score cards. I still think Ronnie got him there, but now in 07, it was like, WTF, like he just gave in. In 06 he still had what we know as Ronnie size. Fck Cutla and Fck da O.

Ronnie could take 2 years off... come back and win the Arnold.
-
Yeah it was due to his training style over the years. I mean look at Vince Taylor, at 51 the guy still has an awesome physique, and look at how many comps he has entered. It all came down to Ronnie's training, not his age or him getting "burnt out".
-
Just a pictorial reminder as to how much less muscle
Ronnie carried this year than 2006. Big Ron was just
holding too much water, (mainly in his back at the 2006
prejudging.) He dropped alot of it for the night show
and looked alot sharper.

Especially in the Legs....lost a lot of mass there he did...

actually calorie restriction had been pr oven as SCIENTIFIC FACT as a means for living longer!
-
.....because it wasn't age, it was dumb and wreckless training methods.

but he won't..I actually don't see Ronnie ever coming "off"
It would be interesting if he took some time off, let his body heal and detox..then come back
-
If it was just the heavy weights he used, it would've happened a long time ago he's been training for decades.
In his case it was lifting heavy + age, combined. He kept lifting heavy because it hadn't hurt him previously to do it, so he didn't stop lifting heavy.
Same thing happened with Yates, later with some age.

do you feel he would have had the same results in term of muscle mass if he trained lighter with more volume ?

Exactly, the dumb and wreckless training method got him 8 sandows and more pro wins then anybody in history. Although his training did lead to his injuries and maybe burnt him out, but clearly they had more benefits.

EXACTLY THATS WHY CUTLER SMASHED ON HIM THREE TIMES IN A ROW
