Post by: kh300 on October 08, 2007, 05:25:59 PM: as times change so does our defense against it.. pilots can now carry.. they go through an academy so they know what they are doing.. no different then a teacher going through a course, so they know what to do when something happens in their school.

not every teacher should be allowed, but those who qualify should, because as everyone should know, school are not safe

Post by: Cap on October 08, 2007, 05:36:28 PM: Teachers get combat pay for working in certain school districts so why not allow them to be prepared for combat? If I was working in Camdem, NJ or Compton, CA I would want to carry. I'm sure many of the kids are. Instruct a teacher to do a failure drill and you are good to go.

That's true, you perform a double tap to the chest and put one in the head.

Seriously though, what else would you or Tre suggest? A whistle? These guys go through a lot of training to ensure the safety of a plane and yes, that includes using their weapons.

I've carried a handgun legally for 11 years now.

When I taught, in a very rough school, I was not allowed to carry. Even though I'm a good shot, I know the 790 statutes inside and out, and I'd be willing to face prison if I ever fuccked up, it was never even an option.
