Title: The Dallas cowboys just got EXTREMLEY lucky
Post by: body88 on October 08, 2007, 09:06:06 PM
5 picks by Romo? Should have been six had Barber not gotten lucky on that tip. They should have lost that game at least 5 times. I cannot believe the bills handed that game away like 8 times..  The poor bills, lol.

I'm still shaking my head over that one. How the hell did Buffalo spit the bit on that game? That's just pathetic.

Letting Dallas complete that second reception and walk out of bounds without being touched might be the worst play I've seen this season. What a joke.

...Buffalo d was to tired. Bills could not sustain enough of a drive to give a break...played great until the end.

Have to cut Trent some slack. We all forget the bills lost 12 starters and have a rookie qb running things. Although the bills handing that game awayat least 4 times was pathetic.

They had that game won with 20 seconds left. The Bills didn't even touch that on-side kick and then they allowed Dallas to make two receptions and go out of bounds.

The Pats at Dallas is going to be one hell of a game.

I cant believe the bills lost. I would give the cowboys credit but no joke the bills handed the game away over 4 times. :-X Classic trap game. I expected to see the bills being crushed when I tuned in.

The cowboys have some firepower tho. They are a good football team. Ob they played below what they are capable off last night.

looked more like the bills played above what they are capable of than the cowboy's playing below.  The below for the cowboys was Romo.  The bills went above and beyond what they have.  You really can't say the bills gave it away 4 times... no that's pretty much countered by Romo giving it away 5 times :)  Super fun game!

hell of an ending to that game. last 2 mins were CRAZY.

a team should never win when the qb throws 5 int's.

but saying that...the cowboys do look like a good tem this year

However way the pulled it off, it counts as a "W" in the win column.

Turn the page to the New England Patriots. What a game for Sunday night!

Is it just me or are the matchups this year on Sunday night 10 times better than the Monday night games?

Madden and Michaels are getting hooked up with some great potential games this year!

I agree a win is a win. No matter how you get it. I feel the Cowboys might have been looking past the bills a little this week.

You really think so? I have a hard time believing that in this day and age of pro football that teams can look past certain opponents to other games on the schedule.

I feel that way because of the parity in the NFL nowadays. Every team has talent, some a little stronger than others at certain postions. But the NFL is set up now where every team has a legitimate shot at beating an overwhelming favorite on any given week. Plus, the players are paid a lot more money these days and are without guaranteed contracts. So I would think every NFL player would lay it all on the line, no matter who the opponent is. There's enough film surveillance during a game that could easily point out to coaches when players weren't giving their best effort.

If the year was 1994 and the 49ers were playing the Cowboys the week after playing the Bucs, then maybe back in those times you could say that teams would look past certain opponents. Nowadays? Forget it!

For instance, Do I think the Ravens are looking past the winless Rams this Sunday? Not a fucking chance! A winless team in particular, are going to put it all on the line because they know at the end of the season that some major changes to the team are underway in the offseason. Every player is expendable to varying degrees.

If you're looking past winless opponents(or any opponent) in today's NFL, then you're in for a long day and you're going to get your dick knocked in the dirt.

I agree..for me, once I took the field and got plowed over once...i'd take the guy across from me really seriously. Way to many people hungry for one of those 53 spots..u gotta play hard every play to keep ur job, plus with injuries etc....u have to play hard.

Teams look past other team all the time. Yea they show up and play hard, I think players can buy in to the hype constantly spewed at them. Do you guys honestly think all the cowboys players went into the Bills game as focused as they should have been? By the way they played I dont think so.

The bills are a very very bad football team. Missing 12 starters. I think the cowboys took them lightly. If not the cowboys are in trouble because Romo and co barley got out of that one.

Imo the bills didnt do anything crazy.Any team worth the label of good is turning 6 turnover's into at least 34  points.

I think the cowboys are a good team. Top NFC team to be honest. No way they play that bad vs the pats.

As I look at this team, its the defense I'm happiest with. I'm glad they're kicking the shit out of everybody. I don't want them labled as a soft team that wins by outscoring u, as Indy was for many years before the SB victory. I want people to fear em. Fear Moss, fear Thomas and Wilfork and Warren. Worry about everything that the Pats do. I still liked it better when we quietly kicked the dog snot out of everybody during the 03-04 SB runs. The score didn't say it, but week in and week out the Pats outplayed everybody. I'm glad they have still managed to find a chip to put on thier shoulder. BB is a genius. Spygate was a manufactured crisis the "Wag the Dog' of the NFL.

Sorry, but when it comes to modern day football, I completely disagree. I honestly do think every player on that Cowboys roster was very focused for the Bills game because of the reasons headhuntersix and I mentioned above. The ball bounced funny in that game for both teams. All NFL teams experience games like that. I also agree with you that the Bills aern't as good a team as the Cowboys and they didn't capitalize on the mistakes like they should have.

My opinion is that NFL teams do not look past present opponents for other games on the schedule. It's one week at a time, one opponent at a time, turn the page process. Headhuntersix had a very simple, good post that basically sums it up for me.

But hey, agree to disagree.

Dallas was lucky.  I don't think Dallas is a great team in the way Indianapolis or NE is great.  I think that Dallas's defense will be exposed soon as not as good as billed.

I wouldn't tag a "Great Team" on any of these teams just yet. I'll wait to see after the season is over. Patriots look like they have the potential to be great, but the wheels can come off any time with injurys and so forth.

I am most impressed so far with Indy since they have the injury bug and are still beating good teams. Patriots should have an easy time getting into the playoffs and resting starters since they are almost guaranteed six wins because their division is straight terrible. As a Cowboys fan, I think the Cowboys are maybe the third or fourth rated team in the league so far. I think Pitt is going to have a lot to say about who goes to the Super Bowl for the AFC.

It will be a tall order to defeat the Patriots this weekend but there is always a chance.

Dont buy the hype. You have a good chance to defeat my pats this weekend. The cowboys are a good football team. I am impressed with Indy also. But dont forget they where healthy for the titans whom they only beat by two points. They played the taxans minus the texans two starting backs and Andre Johnson. The broncs just got killed by the chargers, and The saints are just terrible. While Indy has played some good teams, they also played them when they where injury ridden. That titans game could have went either way.

However the bucs win was very impressive. Colts are very good as usual. You could agrue the best team in the NFL. I happen to think the pats are slightly better (better defense) but a case can be made for the colts no problem. Pats colts Steelers Cowboys.
