A good sample diet for cutting would be to make sure you put two tablespoons of margarine on your plate and eat that with every meal while consuming a six pack of Pepsi. As far as bulking, you should probably try to eat as much fiber and protein and cut out all your carbs.
There are no worthless supplements, you should buy all of them and take them at the same time. More is better.

Cheap bulking drink by SquatsRule:
8 servings pasteurized liquid egg whites (about one small carton)
2 banannas
2 cups 2 percent milk
1 scoop protein powder
2 tablespoons flax seed oil
Makes about 3 servings. In between meal drinks. Adjust protein content to your own specific needs.

your looking at about 25 g protein, 50 g carb, 15 g fats per serving here.
just for those who wanted a nutritional breakdown.
(i know for myself that would be way too many carbs)

You can drop it down to one banana if you like. Twice the amount of carbs works better for me. I chose bananas mainly for the potassium which is necessary for muscular contraction. I prefer complex carbs with my whole food meals.
