Title: CKD
Post by: FullROM on October 12, 2007, 03:06:43 AM
Has anyone here had good results using the CKD diet method?

Can this diet be used for contest? or just stick to the usual 40/40/20 for competition dieting?

The Cyclical Ketogenic Diet, CKD, is a general term to describe diets such as The Anabolic Diet (by Dr. Mauro DiPasquale) and BODYOPUS (by Dan Duchaine). While there are many variants, the most common structure for a CKD is 5-6 days of strict low carbohydrate eating (less than 30 grams per day) with a 1-2 day carb-loading period (where carbohydrate intakes is roughly 60-70% of the total calories consumed). The idea behind the CKD (which will be discussed in a later article) is to force the body to burn fat during the lowcarb days, while sustaining exercise intensity by refilling muscle glycogen stores during the weekend carb-load.

Try the low carb diet with carb reload every 3-5 days, it's better.

ckd is the way to go if your getting ready for a show. there are variations so experiment to see what works best for you. when dieting for a show i keep my carb up to one day instead of the weekend carb up in some of the ckd diets. i usually go 3 or 4 low carb/keto days of no more than 20g of carbs. also remember to get plenty of green leafy vegetables and you can still use some dex in your pwo whey(because it is absorbed so quickly). that counts towards your total calories but not towards your daily carb intake.

30caps is okay i guess, 30g of EPA DHA is a little pricey and unnecessary i think...

I don't know which to buy, i'm in germany...
