what do you think is a better source of carbs? pasta is lower on the glycemic index but has more fat
-
I wouldn't eat either one, but brown rice would be my choice.
Pasta is no different than white bread.
-
pasta is awesome in small quantities
-
You guys ever tried the whole wheat pasta which is becoming more popular? I eat a lot of this. Quality carbs and it also keeps you "regular". I haven't seen the exact #s, but I'm sure the whole wheat stuff is considerably lower on the GI than the other kind.

I could be mistaken but I thought the gi of the 2 was pretty close.

For pasta, I've used Ezekiel, Barilla Plus, Quinoa pasta and also Buckwheat (soba noodles). All are good for variety, have their own benefits, and are superior to brown rice IMO.

No yolks are pretty good and they dont have the weird texture that the whole wheat pastas have that I've tried...Can give you some horrible gas though!!!
-
If, like me, you're sensitive to wheat/gluten then give brown rice spaghetti a try. Tinkyada makes a nice one. A 2 oz. serving has 43g carb's. For me, a serving is half the bag which works out to about 172 g of carbohydrate heaven. ^_^

for nutrition value i would go with brown rice over regular pasta, but then there's all kinds of pastas these days
i still eat regular white paste some times especially after the gym its cool.
-
I actually have been using whole grain Flax seed pasta....
pick it up at local supermarket
-
I picked up some pasta today. It says '100% organic durum whole wheat flour' under ingrediants on the back. This is the kind I want right?

Yes, duram flour is better on your blood sugar levels over white flour. Whole wheat is what you want over ENRICHED any day.
