I would have to say, "no, don't quit your job."  I have watched guys do this, and it is always a disaster that they regret.

I'm sure you're not serious....but write a book.  You don't have to quit your job, and if it isn't total shit, you should get published.  And, if it's just a bit more than horrible, you should still own full rights to the book's material in other form....assuming you don't let the publisher walk all over you.
So, after you make some dough off the book, you could get someone to fund the documentary. 


But, I'm sure you'll just stick to posting here.
