one of the more popular explanations why pride fighters done so bad in the ufc has been that theyre drugtested here unlike in japan, but wand has this to say:
“Actually, they do test in Japan. I was tested before and after my fights in Japan. But if you are thinking of Mirko (Cro Cop) and Shogun as examples, Mirko may have lost because he has so many other things going on in his life, such as his duty in government, and his business. Shogun went through a lot of changes before he fought in the UFC. He changed his home, he changed his training, and he changed fighting organizations. I don’t know why they lost their fights in the UFC; only Shogun and Mirko understand the reasons why they lost.”

its sounds good..but i doubt they were tested. my guess is there tests were anounced ahead of time IF they were given at all
-
yeah we need more info to get a clearer picture how they handle that stuff over there
i dont even know whether everything when it comes to steroids etc is illegal in japan or what the situation is compared to the us
-
My guess is that this would be an example of steroid testing in Japan:
Japanese Official: Mr. Silva, are you currently taking steroids?
Silva: No.
Japanese Official: I'm satisfied.

What a bunch of bullsh$t lies!! Silva is a dick for saying such bullshit. Look at the bodies of the pride guys. All were ripped 6 packs and then they come to the ufc and have jelly rolls. Please what a load of sh#t. ::)

i agree. cro cop looks nothing like he did in pride.
the japanese had it right though. who cares what they take as long as they put on a great show..and they did. pride had some of the greatest fights ever

No matter what anyone says, Pride fighters were NOT tested for steroids in any way, shape or form when they fought in Japan.
However some of the fighters WERE tested on the 2 fights that were fought in the US. It was part of the agreement that let Pride step foot in the US.

UFC used to be a real BS organisation, back in the 90's/early 2000's. Nowadays, I have to admit it's top class sport, I like how the organisation seems to keep their judging honest, and also tries to look into ways of improve on the current 10 point boxing style system, although I dunno how that would be done.
Unlike what is going on in that joke IFL, where certain fighters gets their records boosted with BS decisions.
