The Hermosa Beach, CA Performing Arts Theater on Pacific Coast Highway had a Marque advertising "The Vagina Monologues". This is a family community not more than a half mile from several Schools and Churches. I don’t remember hearing any complaints because “that’s Art”.
Yet a few years ago there was a Strip Club about 4 miles from the above location that took all kinds of heat because they had a Marque that read: “Vagina’s R Us”. I guess because it was gentleman’s club the Marque was considered offensive because it was linked to the adult industry.
Go figure.
