What do you guys think of this? Not that i can ever see it happening, but why would he say it?
Goodell: Super Bowl may someday be held in London
SCOTTSDALE, Arizona -- A future NFL champion may someday be crowned overseas in a game witnessed predominantly by a foreign audience, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said.
"There's a great deal of interest in holding a Super Bowl in London," Goodell told reporters Monday. "So we'll be looking at that."
The commissioner said London's Wembley Stadium would make a great candidate for American pro football's biggest matchup, given the opening of the stadium's lastest incarnation and enthusiasm overseas for the game.
The NFL has been expanding its overseas presence for years by televising games around the world. It's held preseason games in numerous countries in Europe, Asia, Mexico and Canada, and in 2005, the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers played the first regular-season match outside the U.S.
The game at Azteca Stadium in Mexico City drew the league's largest crowd to date, 103,467.
On Oct. 28, Wembley will host the first regular-season NFL game outside North America. It took just 90 minutes to sell the first 40,000 tickets for the game between the Miami Dolphins and New York Giants. Goodell said event organizers have sold 95,000 tickets in all.
Goodell spoke about the possibility of a British Super Bowl after a luncheon Monday in Scottsdale sponsored by the host committee for the 2008 Super Bowl in Arizona.

unfortuneately i can see is happening, i wouldnt be surprised.
we already have a regular season game being played in another country.
if the commish tries to expand the NFL too much over seas, it will make billions of dollars but the end result will be overall less talent and the game itself will be changed. already the game of today is no where near the game in the eighties and early nineties. look at the NBA for example, more teams than ever, they have desperately tried to expand to other countries but yet here in the US the ratings have been down for years. athletes are better than ever but yet game suffers.

they should have a superbowl in a open top stadium with snow before they go overseas.

thats how i feel, i dont understand why they cant have the SB in stadium w/out a dome, the elements are a part of the game.

It would be freakin' horrible to play a Superbowl in another country. I wish the NFL would stop shoving "American Football" down other countries throats. It's an American sport. Let them stick to soccer and rugby.

Just have to jump on and say the company that I work for owns the right to cardinal stadium and there is talk of us buying the cardinals??????

If they think they can make money from it, then i'm sure they'll give it serious consideration.
I do agree with you though. It would be an insult to your fans to hold something like the SB outside of the US. Ridicolous idea!!!

I say keep the Super Bowl in the states but having a Super Bowl in London what a very dumb idea.
