thought mcgonagall was saying "cockroach clusters" at the gargoyle and doing her thing with Albus.. Him being a supreme lelligimence and having those piercing blue eyes and saying "Minerva, I know what you want, witch."
But I find he wanted Gillert Grindlewald... Which raises questions about their legendary duel. I mean, how could he have won the elder wand? Maybe because they fancied one another and Grindlewald hesitated and Albus won the duel and wand.
Anyways, it makes sense in a weird sort of way. Maybe Dumbledore abandoned his fancy of Grindlewald after Ariana's death..

They definately were. If you saw the episode in the canning factory...well lets just say I won't be buying any more creamed corn. :-X

Didn't bother to read the book (because I don't have children), but
I saw a news discussion show the other morning wherein they decided she (JK, the richest woman on the planet) must have decided as an afterthought to throw in a gay character in order to be politically correct and attract what they call here the pink £.
Either that or she has a mad sense of humour.

Yes they did. Harry and Ron were straight. This was made evident from like book 5 and onward.
Him being gay made sense because it explained him going along with Gillert Grindlewald, who was a bad guy and was planinng on taking over the wizarding world. In the end, it got his sister killed, but in later years Dumbledore was still hesitant in meeting Grindlewald in a duel, despite pleas for help. Dumbledore might've been reluctant not only because of his sister's death and who dealt the final blow, but for meeting a man he once loved in a big wizard fight. He won in the end when they finally met for their duel.
And in the last book.. Before Voldemort killed Gillert Grindlewald, he(Grindlewald) lied about the elder wand to prevent Dumbledore's tomb from being desicrated by Voldemort.
