Why did the guy who won make more money the some top 5 bodybuilders in contest, I mean $30,000 first place to do a puzzle when bodybuilders train diet and they may be lucky to get a $1,000 check makes no sense but i guess more bodybuilders should take up suduko to pay the bills

No buddy, its telling you that there is no sponsor that wants to be affiliated with a bunch of drug addicted convicted felons and male prostitutes, oiled up in thongs and prancing around on stage.  Generally not the kind of thing you want to associate your product with.  ::)

right...
but i think you're taking it to the extreme.
every sport has a darkside, maybe bodybuilding isn't the worst in the game, but many are just as bad.
but i think you can have a lot more mainstream appeal with people in shape, muscles that make your jaw drop and overall impressive physiques that you only see in the movies through computer animations...etc
everyone has a body, everyone would like to improve something on their body at any given time, and bodybuilders are the perfect example of what limits the body can be taken to, and how you can do it too, since we all have the ability to train and take up the sport.

i think it's more interesting to the average joe, than watching DARTS, rock-paper-scissors, Bowling, and any other obscure "sport"

Something's only worth what a sponsor will pay for it. Guess bodybuilding loses out in the wider scheme of things.  :-\

yup.

it's especially hard to get the "sport" off the ground, because its decided on judging.
it's like an olympic sport....judges can sway one way or the other, and nobody actually
scores points....so it's hard to sponsor a sport that isn't even in the hands of the athletes...

this is why if you are weider...owner of the federation, and you own weider brand supplements,
you will have your athletes favored on stage....

so many in the business have numerous connections and tie-ins and are looking out for their own interests....thats why there will always be speculation of it being "crooked" or "unfair" "rigged"...etc..
