I've been in DEEP hibernation the last 4 months trying to tie up loose ends in my personal, buisness&financial life and prep for this show which I did EXCEPTIONAL last night. I've cut out alot of good people/friends in my life as well as family. I hid from the world and fell into the abyss of eating, sleeping, training and cooking. To anyone and everyone who will read this that I ignored or felt ignored by me I want to say that I am sorry and I apologize and hope everything is okay. I did it on purpose and get that way when I am bothered by the stresses of life on top of the pressure I put on myself for this show which I desperately needed. This show saved me in a sense. It will be my last for 2 years. It was that reason I chose to hibernate.
I competed in the USA Continental BB&Fig Championships in St. Charles, IL last night. Along with fellow Getbigger 'Luv2Hurt' who also did acceptional. I prepped 13 long and hard weeks for this as I knew it would be my last show for a while due to the 'Next Chapter' in my life which begins in Janurary. This show meant so much to me as as I siad, I desperately needed for personal reasons. I never dieted so hard and I never put in so much work for a show on a limited budget along with many personal obstacles in my way.
I started 13 weeks out from a bodyweight of 240lbs. At that weight I had somewhat of a
4Pack' and a vein in my arm but only visible after training. I stepped on the scale backstage at 204.5lbs 100% shredded to the bone and as dry as one. It was the hardest thing I have ever done. The diet, the cardio, the training, the frustrations that only competitors know of. I was full and probably the most conditioned guy in my class(Heavyweight) out of 11 others. I was also the lightest of the heavyweights. I was outmuscled by a few guys but what made me place 3rd and get top call-outs/comparisons was the fact that my physical endurance, posing and conditioning was on.
It was a brutal and grueling pre-judging. The judges made us hold our 'standing relaxed' position for a full 5-6 minutes before a single quater-turn was called out. To a competitor on stage that 5-6 minutes may as well be 5-6 hours. I was the only one on stage that stood the strongest as everyone els was either in tri-pod position or dry heaving when the judges said to 'relax'. I knew as much as it hurt and as painful as it was that I had to do whatever I could to edge some of these guys out as I was out-muscled by 15-20lbs on some of these guys.
It paid off. I stood my ground and in between shows I ate clean and plentiful but still refused even a single drop of any fluid. At the night show as thristy and uncomfortable as I was I got dryer and harder. I was barely able to pinch any skin off of my abs and the veins were out all over my legs and hamstrings. My abs were striated along with my delts, chest and back. The other guys in my class boasted about how during our break they drank this or drank that because 'well, the judging is already in so fuck it'. I knew that if I stayed strong and stayed focused that it may spring me past a couple guys I was close with. My good judgement paid off as well as the advice from a friend of mine as her name will go nameless right now.
I posed to Creed's 'Are You Ready' ala Kevin Levrone in 2000 at the 'O'. I got that idea from Special'Secret Agent Man'Ed as he showed me that routine on YouTube at the ASC. I had the crowds' backing as my name was echoing throughout the building. After that routine I knew I placed higher. We were called back out and when I was announced 3rd I felt like I did what I set out to do. Prove that I can be as good as I claim to be. The men who placed me were two big freaky bodybuilders. One gentleman Dave from Ohio and the other a local guy here in ChiTown named Andy Krawchy(sp?).
3rd place is 3rd place. I know I sound like I won the OVERALL but for me it was what I needed. It was a tough class and tough show. I learned alot about my body and what it responds to and I also learned a great deal about everything els and I'm looking forward to sharing it all with you people who read this. You just have to ask.

I herniated a disk (S1).
I was cruising pretty heavy (high 230's) and got under 10% pretty fast.
