there's a chest training article in MD on him and he claims to flat bench 585 for 6-8 and incline 500 for reps, what do you think?
-
forgot to mention, as usual................... .................i'm calling bullshit.

hes all drugs.

Shit, that's nothing. "wickedtruth" puts those numbers up and he has only trained for two years. hahahaah
-
Highly unlikely!

SF doz tamali look 280 2 u?
-
Pretty light weight, most getbiggers use that to warm up with.
-
HAHAHA give me another 6 monts and i'll be blowing him away wiht my amazing quarter rep feats baby!!! ;D
...but yeah i'm with everyone else and calling bullshit. I know a few guys that bench 500 or over raw and would tear trey's arms off. Now way that kid, being a bodybuilder and training like one, can put up those numbers. Knowing now what it takes to achieve them, he'd also have to be barbell rowing 500-585lbs, etc to achive that kind of bench strength and that's just a load of horse shit. He even makes MY claims look feasable! ;D

Bahh.. I started warming up 675 lately... it's getting kind of light though.. might have to bump the weight up..

On a serious note, assuming for a moment that these lifts are true, does a bber REALLY need to be lifting that much weight for chest training?
Of course you need to lift heavy, but don't the risks beyond a certain point just outweigh the benefits of lifting so much?
It would suck for him to tear a pec trying to bench this heavy, and prematurely end his bbing career.
-
Does anyone have a copy of the video where trey says his arms are 23" around, then Captian Ron pulls out the tape on him?

well if he does it for 8 reps its not really heavy for him is it?
but its bullshit anyways

lol, youtube is your friend!
That was on the first day of the arnold classic expo, i think. I was there (but not when Ron showed up with the tape). Trey looked very huge indeed.

Agreed that he looked HUGE, but to lie THAT much about his arm size was just ridiculous. Good thing we've got Ron running around the expos to keep people honest.

All hail Gay Brewer.
The strongest man in the world.

In all the current photos and video interviews he looks huge, and fat. He says he is weighing 320 right now and he is as smooth as I've ever seen a pro during the offseason with maybe the exception of Lee Priest when he did that ad. Trey's arms are severely lacking. Evan Centopani is worlds ahead of him.

Agreed. I don't see what all the hype is about.

wheres the youtube clip?
were they really 23 inches? (I'd guess not)
What did he do when he was busted?
-
Ben White, Trey Brewer, JOJ, Branch Warren off season bench contest

I know what you mean. I was doing about 25-30 reps with 650 as a warm-up before I hit the real weights.

He's probably pretty strong but I would say it's a slight exaggeration.
I love when bodybuilders lie about their lifting - they always seem to be able to lift "exactly" four or five plates a side - you never get a guy saying "oh my best bench was 471.6lbs".

ya i bet he does working sets of 4 plates for 6-8 reps..and maybe does a set of 5 plates 2-4 reps once in a while

maybe on the 4 plates but no fuccking way on the 5 plates per side.

no way, just another overhyped amateur, MD should be puhing Evan and Grimez. The guy looks like he's 48 and he's in his early twenties, that can't be good. I'm sure he's a strong guy but there isn't a chance those numbers are true. I think he made some other crazy claims in MD a few issues back, i can't remember them though..

I remember that, what were they 20.5?
These guys are all bullshitting assholes, every last one.
Trey Brewer looks like a walking pharmacy, he represents everything that is wrong with the "sport"

well that shouldn't surprise you. most gym goers only use the 25s and 45s. ever watched a guy do 135x10, get 185x6 and then pop right up to 225? a guy with a 4 plate bench probably goes 135, 225, 315, 365, then 405. most people try to avoid the little plates for whatever reason (i'm guilty of it myself).
as for his claim, no duh it's bullshit. ryan kennelly hits 585x2-3, nick winters and glen chabot both were in the 3 range with 600, nick got 625x3 once, and brewer's outdoing them all while lifting like a bodybuilder and dieting down regularly? sure.

nothing a get bigger couldn't handle

That's the trouble with a lot of guys in the gym - they see pictures of the pros in photshoots only using the 45's and the 25's and think it's pointless to use anything smaller.
Proper strength gains come with only adding 5lbs to the bar at a time (we all know this but so few people actually put it into pratice) - not taking huge leaps just because it makes the barbell look good. That's why you see the same guys using exactly the same weights year in year out. They never make any progress as a result.

Y'all quit hatin' on The Barely Legal Freak 8)

"No, the Gay Brewer training and "lifestyle" DVD is NOT, and I repeat NOT targeted at a gay audience"
::)

That guy seriously looks like shit, he is ruining his body and his health...moron
-
Squadfather you are so cynical! ::) Clearly possible bro
Ive done 405 for 28 but am just training for cuts now bro
-
I bet he could do 5 plates a side for a single. He was a strong kid in high school. Throw in a bunch of gear and 4 more years of training.
-
dude weighs 320 he better be able to do the weights
-
do you think md would lie to cover their athletes
