I go to a few different LA's and a Bally all in my area. They all have things that I like/dislike about them. The LA's have more hammerstrength machines, so I go there when i need them, and the Bally is usually less crowded, so i go there if I'm in a hurry. It's convenient, but both of them have their share of crazy people.

Nasser enjoys working out a variety of gyms too.  You should see in Nasser on the Way Part 5 he does each workout at a different gym in San Diego.

I just found a Gold's Gym somewhat near my house and I would really like to join there. It's not very well advertised and not very big, but it has to be more bodybuilder-friendly than the places I go to now (mentioned above).

Does anyone know what the monthly rates are at a place like Gold's, and is it worth it?

If I travel to a different city, I usually try to go to a gym in the area for a workout.  Different machines, atmosphere, and scenery.

I'm going in the opposite direction. I just finished my home gym and if I like/use it enough, I'm not going to renew my gym deal.

It is so fucking convenient to be able to work out whenever you feel like it.

I guess I got over on Golds then...

I put $200 down, pay $31/month and I have access to 6 different gyms around where I live. I walk in to the office, and they'll give me a travel pass free of charge, and when I went out of town and didn't get the travel pass, the cutie at the desk let me train for free for 3 weeks at the Golds in the town I was in.

Couple that with having the best atmosphere, hot chicks of whatever look you desire, and easy to get to locations pretty much anywhere I'll be (within a 15min drive)....I can't complain.

I wouldn't recommend Gold's to anyone, as mine sucks.

Pros:

Nice equipment

Cons:

Clueless trainers/sales people

Too many dumbfuck members

Place is always a mess

Weights are never put back in the right place, and it starts with their very own trainers
