I read it, watch out for guys with veins in their arms, they must be on AAS!LOL!!! And for Wadler who says 3-4% of highschoolers and 2 % of 8th graders are on AAS, what a joke. I remember that survey from highschool and it basiclly said"Have you ever used steroids?". Half the idiots think protein is a steroid or the ani-inflammatory their doc gave them is a steroid because it's in the name. So those surveys are extremely scewed, IMO. I'm sure teenagers do use AAS, but many more drink, smoke or take trail mix(prescription meds) to get high, and AAS is a joke to them. Whatever though, Congress is on a soapbox right now, so enjoy that creatine fellows, LOL!

It wasn't a bad article, but with all due respect this article

Is far more important. ;D ;) :P
I spent 9 years as a student at Mizzou through three degrees, including my doctorate. It's nice to see the football team finally doing well. ;D ;D

They must have been using the AAS, what will they do now! :o ;D

When I was in High School I knew for certain of about 8-10 people on the sports teams who took gear (they didn't know wtf they were doing granted), we had about 450 kids in the school, I don't think 3-4% is exaggurated at all. If they go strictly off those surveys then I'm sure those numbers will be off, but I doubt they do.

Ditto, in High School I know of about 6 that were on hard juice and about 20 or so of us on Pro Hormones

I played football for one of the most dominant 5A schools in Texas and i knew probably 30 kids on the varsity team that used AAS. mainly Dbol, deca, winny and test. none of them had a clue what they were doing but we won state several times...lol
My graduating class was over 700.

I played at a big 5A school as well...graduating class 1200. I honestly don't believe too many people on my football team used any AAS, no the baseball team, whole differant story. Point being, in baseball we were phenomenal, football, average maybe below avergage. We used to get creamed every year by one of the football teams across town, but in baseball, no one could touch us.

So, that is the part they left out of Friday Night Lights eh??
My high school had about 500 total kids. After one summer this kid (football player) came back to school water logged, full of acne at about 20 lbs bigger than the previous year. Talk about standing out and being made fun of all year! He finally admitted it after tons of ridicule.
-
I'd suspect a lot of bunk sold.
But top level athletes are going to be around older ones.
THere's clearly some using, but even normal kids just get bigger and bigger these days... :o
Most the HS survey respondants couldnt tell prednisone from parabolan.

One of our fullbacks came back his senior year 30 pounds heavier and LEAN! the coach(who was a very religious coach) asked him if he was using. his reply in a farm boy hick voice "i'm just a corn fed country boy who hit puberty"...lol
15 minutes later he was talking to some guys about Dball...lol

Damn, that's a big class!
We sucked at baseball when i was in school.
Watch the movie "The Junction Boys" and you will see how serious football was/is in Texas. the school i went to lived and breathed football, the entire town did as well. we had our own stadium with turf and huge scoreboards...etc. this was over 10 years ago.
our first day of football practice as freshmen the coach said "you will now forget everything in life besides Football, school, God and Football. if you want to play for my team you will live and breathe football"

Yeah it's the same way here...exactly the same. In retrospect though, even though I had a lot of fun playing ball, both sports were great, the coaches and parents who live for this stuff are out of their minds IMO. they make it out to be the most important and serious aspect of your life...they imply that it's this time period of your life that will shape you for the rest of your life...absolute 100% bullshit. it's fun, they're fun games...end of story.

I agree 100%
The parents are CRAZY down here. My little sister was in the drill team so i used to show up to some of the football games last year before halftime so i could watch her dance. There were grown men getting into fist fights during halftime over plays that happen in the first quarter! i couldn't believe they had so many parents going absolutely crazy over the dumbest plays I've ever seen. one guy had to be taken away in handcuffs because he was acting so crazy towards the refs.

The worst parents are the ones in little league baseball. I umpired little league for a few years when I was in college...good extra money for a college student..but I had more parents follow me to the parking lot threatening me, threw out coaches all the time...the younger the teams the worse too, t-ball and coach pitch was always the worst.

Reminds me of the pop-warner football game I was at over the weekend. My buddy pointed out some guy that was way far away on the sidelines. Told me he went off on a ref because his son made a bad play at the last game and got banned from being too close to the action by the coaching staff. Guess he threw around too many F-Bombs that game...
Looked like the dunce in class sitting in the corner sucking his thumb for being an idiot!

What kinda blows me away is that it is more known down in the states then it is in Canada. Football is not as big, nor is baseball. Hockey and Lacrosse was pretty well all there was when I grew up or for the cheap parents such as my own, soccer. Well let me ask you this, how many soccer players do you see being nailed for AAS use, not many cause it's not a physical sport. Hockey and Lacrosse well it's getting a little more exposure now as far as AAS is concerned. To put how in a percpective how big any sport but hockey is up here...our football leagues players have full time jobs as well.
Football and Baseball are most kids in the states meal tickets for scholarships and such, so most want to beat out the next kid that means any edge they can have they will take. AAS is that edge, and it works. It was masked for many years, I believe that the use of AAS came to a head because of the Olympics and of all things a Canadian sprinter....Jackass. Problem is that Canada's money couldn't protect him the way it has so many US sprinters. And no that is not a shot at the Americans....easy guys, it's just truth.
For me I don't sell it nor do I ask my source were he gets it from....I don't care. I use it for myself and my benifits, and I'm not hurting anyone for using it. It's my body and I do what I want to it...that's the way it is. If I want to walk around with 10 needles sticking out of my forehead, that's what I'll do, well my fiance won't like it but thats another story.
The government needs to start concentrating on bigger things than the average Joe using AAS, how about world peace, starvation in third world countries, guns in teenagers hands....those are threats to the world, not a person sticking test into his ass.

Them USA sprinters are NOW getting burned at the stake as we click.
Pathetic.
