Title: Q for math majors/ BBing historians
Post by: 240 is Back on October 31, 2007, 08:54:27 AM
What is the average age of the top 10 Olympia finishers in 2007, 1997, and 1987?

On PBW, Bob and Shawn Perine discussed the lost camraderie due to pros being older.  Being in their 30s, they were too busy with families to drop everything and live the BBing lifestyle in the Mecca.  I was curious about the trends which could be shown here, if any.

for 1987, the year of birth for the top ten (in order) are 59, 63, 60, 55, 46, 62, 38, 59, 51, 59.   Even with Albert Becckles and Robby Robinson, the average age was 32.  Without them, it's 29.   The median age is 28.

for 1997, the years of birth are 62, 65, 65, 65, 72, 68, 67, 64, 64.  Average age 31, median 32.

for 2007, years of birth are 73, 73, 69, 64, 78, 73?, 75, 72, 71, 75?.  Anthony and Henry are estimates.  Average age 35, median 34.
