Oh shit, it's here! After a decade having to be satisfied with outstanding but still sub-par games when compared to Starcraft, like Warcraft III and Diablo, Blizzard has finally made the second version of the greatest computer game of all times! :D Starcraft II is almost ready and it going to kick ass! Starcraft is a legend among games, which is why Blizzard was so weary of making a second version of it. However, due to millions of letters and e-mails they received over the past 10 years requesting, they finally gave in to it. Here is a preview of the second version of this king among kings of games, Starcraft! 8) I can almost foresee the entire adolescent population of Asia dying of a collective heart atack! ;D

Then there are lots of geeks in the World, because Starcraft sold over one billion units World-wide in the last 10 years. I'm not alone. ;)

Ha ha ha ha...keep the hate coming. I love it. Now seriously, I'm not a fanatic. I usually don't care about games unless they're really, really great, like Warcraft III and now Starcraft II. Starcraft II has to be mentioned because it is the game of games. I only play a few hours of games a week at the most.

Warcraft is about micro management and using your resources to the highest efficiency, while Starcraft is more about strategy and getting the most resources and troops possible and overwhelming your opponent. Different philosophies. Both games are awesome and very hard in their respective areas, although I'd say that Starcraft allows for more strategies and tactics as well as greater battles.

"the hate" ???
Is Starcraft a human based game or a "creature" based game?

nothing will ever come close to warcraft 2, or command & conquer!
-
The way it was explained to me, its very easy to get powerful weapons and shields and what not in warcraft, because they spawn in the same place on the same map, all the time, whereas on starcraft, the weapon could spawn anywhere on any map at any time, and was much more difficult to find. Speaking of video games, how does everyone like halo 3?

I don't believe that stat, at all. Prove that.
And these Starcraft 3 videos have been out for like 6 months or more. Where have you been?
-
gta 4 will fuck every other game
-
Is this a computer game or like an x-box or playstation game?
-
Red Alert was my favourite series. Cold War games are the best.
Anything with GTA 4 is going to be funny and good.
-
Yeah got to say I used to love playing Strcraft 8).
Heres what I'm really looking forward to though......hell yeah!!!

Old news. But you're right, this will be huge. Especially in Asia. The gaming industry nowadays is bigger than the movie industry. Blizzard is probably making tons of money each month on World of Warcraft.
Still, starcraft was the only game i really played a lot.
And i was there with warcraf 1 , 2, 3. Neither of them are as good as starcraft imo.
It's been years since i've gamed, but for sc 2 i'd make an exception.

Are you saying protection leads to loss of satisfaction, Mars?

Lol 9 Million users paying $15 a month = 135 million dollars a year,Im sure they are bringing in some proft there ;)

I think you'll find your calculations a bit lacking there.
The 9 million number does not refer to current active subscribers by the way. Thats total (as far as I know)

absolutely. i hate those things, i do them without.

I think you'll find your research lacking
Commenters were asking if the 9 million subscribers were for all-time or the past month, the answer is the past month. Blizzard’s World of Warcraft Subscriber Definition reads:
“World of Warcraft subscribers include individuals who have paid a subscription fee or have an active prepaid card to play World of Warcraft, as well as those who have purchased the game and are within their free month of access. Internet Game Room players who have accessed the game over the last thirty days are also counted as subscribers. The above definition excludes all players under free promotional subscriptions, expired or cancelled subscriptions, and expired prepaid cards. Subscribers in licensees’ territories are defined along the same rules.”

I read that definition and I see no clear indication that anybody but internet game room players are counted on an "over last 30 days" basis.
Not saying you're wrong, I'm saying that is carefully worded not to say what is claimed in the first sentence.
Edit: I went back and checked my research. I'm right and you are wrong. Thanks for playing ;D
-
Nope I'm wrong. I take that back. Reading comprehension severly lacking.
Though before you laugh, you might want to reconsider how much money wow makes in a year. Most of their subscriber base is in economies a lot less fruitful than $15 a month prices charged in US/UK/AU etc.
Not to mention that no matter what 9 million subscribers at $15 is over a billion dollars a year.

SC 2 trailer gave me goose bumps :)

That's 135 million a month.
This market is gonna get even bigger. The average gamer is around 30 now i read, lots of disposible income from these "nerds".
And from what i understand Blizzard is actually quite a small company (in number of employees compared to other game developpers). Almost every game they do is a hit, incredible.

Yeh, its around 135 a month if they all paid $15 but many of their subscribers are paying far less than that. (You can't charge Chinese $15 a month to play).
