Do you count protein that comes from carb sources (like oatmeal, rice, pasta etc...) towards your daily total ?
for example: 100g oatmeal has 13g protein. Lets say you eat 4 bowls of that a day, that's 52g protein.
To count or not to count...

no.........fucck no.

Depends ...
How analytical do you want to get? Generally speaking, plant based proteins are absorbed around 80%...whereas an egg for instance is absorbed around 97%. Also keep in mind, plant based proteins are incomplete...

Come on Squadfather every one knows you only count the number of cheese burgers you eat .

Pre contest I count every gram of fat, protein, carbs and calories from all sources.

Can you explain a bit more? What happens with the other 25%? You just crap it out?
About the incomplete part: if you mix it up with other protein sources (which any bb probably does) you'll be alright i think. Eg some milk with your oatmeal. You body will take the amino acids it needs.

I got the advice to not count them a long time ago and i haven't done so since. I thought maybe i was a little "too hardcore" or exaggerating by not counting them, guess not then...
Right now i get 190-200g of "pure" protein a day, if i counted the carb proteins, it's 50-60g more everyday, totaling around 250g...

simple answer:
--count it in your total calories
--DON'T count it in for protein amount (only count your good sources)

Technically speaking... yes ;D
It's called the coefficient of digestibility.
See the 4th page (p. 111) for an in-depth explanation.
