Title: Dextrose or maltodextrin

Does any body know of any good quality and cheap dextrose or maltodextrin products. I dont really get any carbs after my workout and would like to add them to my post workout shake...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

thats what i was thinking ive used maltodextrin and felt pretty bloated does waxy maize make that much of a difference as far as that goes?

yes it will make a difference. the dextrose/malto do work well but the wms would be a better choice with less stomach discomfort and bloating.

Also, remember, the whole point of using these is to spike insulin for a number of good reasons (protein + nutrient delivery PWO).  Your body has to process maltodextrin into dextrose so what would even be the point of using it?  It's like if I wanted to win a race car, would I buy a Ferrari and be done with it or go buy a Honda, put in a new engine, supercharger, new tires etc just to get the same effect?  I'll take the shorter route to the desire effect any day of the week.

Some people have noted that insulin spiking might lead to diabetes later on depending on your family history, but I haven't' seen any conclusive evidence of that over the long term usage of this method in bodybuilders.

now foods makes a good malto product called carb gain or something like that. Its about 10 bux for a big ass tub.

i had just read an article on nutrition that stated that "dextrins" were equally indigestible as cellulose, and that your body would only extract a small percentage of its calories through bacterial fermentation once its passed through the intestines...
