I'm sure we've all heard some flat-out lame ass excuses from gym members NOT to do legs.
It seems like at my gym, everyone does chest and arms everyday. So the leg equipment is ALWAYS open no matter what day it is. Occassionally, you see a dude that looks half-way decent throw in some delts and back. But very few.
These are some of the excuses I have heard over the years:
1 - I train them somewhere else
2 - I hit them enough when I do cardio
3 - I have a bad back, so my Chiro told me not do them
4 - I wear pants alot
5 - My quads grow too fast, so I only train them once a month
6 - There's never any equipment open when I want to train them, so I just do something else
7 - I only train them during the summer
8 - I'm trying to bring up my upper body

Scared of the pain.... not a lame excuse but sometimes It takes hold of me and that's the days I'm skipping legs.

I feel the same way, I believe anybody who says they like doing heavy squats (ass to the grass) are fuckin' lying.

well I promise you I do... I don't go heavy, but than I have never lied about my weight and I'm not ashamed that I cannot lift as heavy as most guys here ::)
In any case every time I tried to gain some mass by lifting heavier than I should I gained nothing... I need to keep it clean./

Honestly if a guy has a bad back why should he squat? If he isn't a pro BB and they don't want to do legs who cares, that is their choice. It just leaves equipment for the people who do train legs.

pain is the most common i've heard, i don't personally like doing legs although squats are hard the worst is straight leg deadlifts and leg curls, not when doing them but the after effects are brutal.
Also do you guys have idiots who use the squat rack from stupid sh*t like holding the bar in between rest periods for bicep curls? the guys at my gym do it ALL the time and the thing is they only curl 70-80lbs total and the gym has bars already pre loaded with those weights.

Agreed. If I stop at paralell, my knees scream for days. Because I do go ass to ankles, I don't go as heavy as some might, but I know I'm stimulating growth.
Besides, I'd rather be the guy that squats 405 for a deep 6 or 8 than the guy that quarter squats5 or 6 plates!

I think goin that low creates a little rest pause and tension relief; although, I've watched some guys squat "ass to grass" and I literally hear their knee joints pop and click during the upwards portion of the movement.

I don't squat due to lower back problems, but I still do legpresses every week and plenty of leg curls.
Legpresses will never be as good as squats, but if you go deep with them and are very intense, then you'll get decent enough results.

when i started training i hated doing them but now its together with back my favorite bodypart to train.

oh yes those too destory the glutes one of the best leg workouts i did was when i couldn't afford to go to the gym so i went to a park and did walking lunges slow for 100 yards, rested for a minute then did it back, the whole time concentrating on my glutes contracting throughout the movement i literally couldn't walk for days haha

Fawk it's leg day today and I'm not looking forward to that feeling man. People say don't eat before you do legs. No way in hell I could get through any work out of mine without eating 40 minutes before.

I do squats every week without fail.
Squats are painful, but I find the first set is the worst so doing a proper warm up is really crucial.
If I try and warm up with 70kg it's painful so I just do the bar then 70 then 110 and so on.

Mine do that, it doesn't hurt, but the sound freaks me out. They never used to do that in the old days, man is sucks to get old.

I am tired of spending most of the week limping and gimping around from the pain of my last legs session. DOMS seems to affect my legs the most
I am trying different things now to see if I can stimulate them in a short time period
I am now supersetting legs press and leg extentions..that seems to create a good burning sensation
also doing more hack squats instead of regular squats. And if I do regular squats it only on a smith machine. My legs suck and need lots of work..
I am doing a routine that calls for Chest and Quads on the same day..that is brutal..defintely need to eat and take a pre-workout booster.
For motivation I look at the Mr.Getbig 2 contestant legs :P

yeah this dude is intense. I used to play football at morehouse and denzel washingtons son played running back there at the same time. so I think he hired rope. this dude had the most bugged out eyes. and a high voice. its funny, once he had us in line waiting to do something. man he started talking. I laughed my ass off. this huge dude talked like mike tyson.. man he made me run a mile for that. he said some shit like. "I will take yo ass to the next level"

Wrapping the knees makes tight makes a big big difference for the squat, couldnt do without it.
