Title: How will Evan Centopani fare in the pro ranks?
Post by: 240 is Back on November 18, 2007, 09:01:47 AM
He's only 23 or 24 years old, right?   Scary to think how he'll look in 5 years.  We haven't seen many guys turning pro this young - Phil Heath was the last, I think.

he should do well, lots of size, it's weird though his arms are supposed to be his standout bodypart yet they look small in the front double biceps shot, needs a lot more chest thickness as well.

He looked better last year before Dumbo Palumbo got his grubby hands all over him.

Super heavyweight runner up Grigori Atoyan doesn't look too bad.

Grigori:

yeah a little closer, Evan has more upper back detail but the backs are pretty even in size and width and Grigori destroys him from the front.

Evan is gonna end up on dyalisis within 3-4 years! You know all this win is gonna do for him is tell him he has to do 'more and more' to compete in the pro ranks. AND guess what? HE WILL AT ANY COST!

What an idiotic post.   Yeah all bodybuilders end up messing themselves up right? ::)  How many pro bodybuilders have there been in the last 20 years?  How many have had really bad physical ailments?  The percentage is VERY low.

With the right improvements Evan will do well as a pro. He'll need more size though.

dialysis would indicate renal (kidney) failure.  That usually comes from longterm NSAID abuse or dehydration.  Evan's only done a few shows.  Many guys turning pro (like Dixon) are ten years older and have been competing for ten more years.  I don't think Evan is at risk any more than any other pro, and likely less, due to being young.

He'll take a year off "TO PUT ON MORE SIZE"
and make his pro-debut in 09 at The NY PRO
and place in the top 5
then go back to his 9-5 job

Most guys, yea.  But he has an MD column, big fan base.  I think he'll be around for 5 years in some capacity, easily, even if he's not a successful pro.  Personally I think he'll be a top 5 guy in smaller shows, but probably doesnt have the lines to be a top 10 O guy.  But you never know!

I think he's got decent lines, it's just the fact that his legs and chest will probably never reach pro quality without sacrificing his waistline

His pecs completely disappear when he hits a front double biceps pose.

i think if he puts on quality size slowly and in the right places in will do well in the pros. he will be like a darrem charles. he could win some smaller shows but get overlooked alot. all in all i think he could make himself some money in the sport if he does everything right

Evan will be Mr. Olympia one day so long as he takes his time and adds muscle slowly but surely without blowing out his gut or injuring himself. About 3-5 years.

Probably not very well.  It seems very few of the Nationals or USA's winners have done shit in the pros lately.  All the up-and-comers in the IFBB are from overseas.  Heath is probably the sole exception.

Winning a bodybuilding contest is something in math called an "independent event".  Past history of which bodybuilders turned pro at which contest have absolutely nothing to do with what a newly turned pro at that contest can do today.

Yeah, I wouldn't even say that. He has a Bob Chick type of physique. He's kinda wide at the waist, the side tri pose ( his detail is blurry) you can kinda gauge that if his waist is wide now, it won't look that well later on. A lot of pros don't have the ab-intercorsal  detail that Shawn Ray, Dex or other notables have when doing the side tri pose.

I think he looked better last year. I hope that the Olympia standards of rewarding heavy, yet blurred detail, when the bber was better before, has not trickled down to the NPC... :-X

We can all hope he will be smart, stay away from the slin/igf-1/gh combos, put on size slowly and be a threat for the O maybe 5 or 6 years from now... but most likely he will keep hearing "More size... more size... more size..." from these dumbass judges... he will think that size is all he needs to win, start pinning the above combo, grow a gut and end up like Cutler- no conditioning, just a blob of mass... cause thats exactly what the judges tell most of these guys.  It ends up going to their heads, and before they know it size and mass is all they can think about and end up ruining what was once a great physique. :-\
