Title: hands down best meal replacement?
Post by: Tom on November 19, 2007, 07:15:36 AM
looking for the best meal replacement. and when i mean meal replacement i'm talking an actual MEAL REPLACEMENT! something along the lines of 600 calories or so, high protein, medium carbs, low fat, and yeah, it would be great if it tasted good too!

thanks in advance for the replies!

You are not going to find a meal replacement with 600 calories.

If you want something rich and dense...

Any regular MRP, MetRx, Lean Body etc
1 banana
2 Cups Skim Milk
PB or Flax Seed oil

Total calories 5-600

I've always liked this in chocolate from Optimum.

I think it may have been replaced by 'Gold'.

Make your own!

-Blended Protein Powder (whey, milk, egg, etc)
-Skim Milk (If lactose intollerant, use water or crystal light)
-Quick Oats
-Oil or PB

If you really need the convience of packs, try Labrada line of MRP. Trust his the most.

some stores let you buy portions and not a whole box so if thats available buy one of each and try em out

i agree with previous posts to get the calories up need to mix it with something other than water, that makes the difference, though it prevents it from being that convinient if youre on the go and need to bring milk, oil and everything with you...  :-\

MET-RX  Chocolate. Mix in a blender with a bunch of ice with skim milk and tastes like a milk shake.

The best on the market is probably Beverly's UMP or Ultra Size.  The best tasting one is still Muscle Milk.

Beverly's lean gain program has you taking one to two servings of ultra size with two table spoons of heavy cream and one tablespoon of peanut butter.

What he said, except for the milk IMO. Milk is packed full of sugar, so there are just better options IMO.

I agree but suggested milk for the only reason of adding more calories, if he was looking for that. For some it helps with the cost of protein as well. Each cup of milk is around 8 g. protein/12 g. sugar so can help add cheaper calories and an added source of protein. If he is only using Whey, would always recommend a milk based liquid to slow digestion down of the Whey, making it a true MRP.

Old guy like me avoids as much sugar as possible!!  ;)
