Hey everyone I'm new one here but have been weight training for about 9 years. I am 6'1" 235lbs. Chest is probably 46-47", 36" waist. I have trouble buying jackets that fit me properly. Suit and sport jackets usually are too tight in my arms and shoulders. I can't lift my arm forward or they will tear. I have to buy them extra big, which makes me look fat. I then have to have them tailored to get a better fit. The problem I have now is finding a new leather jacket. Everything seams to be made for thin or overweight guys. I don't think leather can be easily altered. If I get a size that fits my chest and arms, it is way too big in the stomach area. I'm not THAT big, so I can't be the only one having this problem. Any suggestions?

Hey try this.... lose weight, then maybe you can fit your fatass into a jacket. You aren't huge or swole. You aren't big. If anything you look like an idiot.

Welcome to getbig bro here are essential pointers to prolonge your stay and not to become one of the fags that jump ship and post at MD.
1) If you make claims (including any weight you pushed over 200lbs) >>> Post a picture
2) If you claim to be a certain size bigger than the average Joe and most posting at getbig >>> Post a picture.
3) Do not take your reflection with a cheap camera, we have enough of these images around.
4) Be prepared for a shit storm when you're images are online, Squatfather and Leafy will rip you to shreds if you are not in prime contest condition and look like you could walk on stage and take the Sandow.
Good luck.
Oh and try a cloth store, last time I checked they do now Jackets for everybody and are not tailor made anymore, welcome to this century.

I have never even heard Ronnie Coleman comply about not finding a fitting jacket, i guess 'Don Mullet' is bigger than the Hulk.

46" chest, 36" waist? Cry me a freakin' river. Men's Wearhouse can do that. It's only a 10" drop, suits are built with a 6" drop.
I am not that big and have a 20" drop and can can easily have suits altered to fit, so I don't think you have any real problem.
Nice cry for attention, though.

Vansons can make made to measure leather jackets.
However, Schott off the rack jackets can be altered, usually motorcycle shops have names of guys that can alter them..
But made to measure looks the BEST!
Ask at some motorcycle shops about leather tailors if you want to go with an independent local tailor.

I had really good luck with Mens Wearhouse, not sure if they carry leather jackets but I think they do. I get all my dress clothes and suits there, they do a good job getting them to fit "right" and are not too outrageous with alteration $$

Just buy the suit jacket in the smaller size, then cut off the sleves... problem solved! It's what Bob Chick would do.

Wow, seams like we have alot of real nice guys here. I asked a legitimate question. No where did I imply that I was huge or anything. I simply stated that I was having trouble finding jackets that fit well for my body type. To those that gave an intelligent answer, thanks. Maybe the way I phrased the question sounded stupid, I dunno. And no I don't have any great "contest" photos. I'm just an average guy that enjoys a healthy lifestyle and that includes lifting weights and various martial arts. So bring it on if you will.

I shop at century 21 in downtown Manhattan. They have great prices on suits, ties and shirts.
My jacket size is 42, but 40 fits and I'd use it for job interviews.
Sorta like Christian Bale in American Psycho.

As evidence of my earlier statement, do you notice she's the only chick in a group of six guys?
I wonder if they ran a train on her shortly after this pic was taken?

Props on posting the pics. Many are called to Getbig, few are chosen. You might just make the cut...
Oh, you are not very big. You should have no trouble buying off the rack. It may take a few trips to different stores to find what you like, but the size issue shouldn't be a problem.
Welcome to Getbig... now go kill yourself runt.
:)

I think I've been looking at some designer brands that are just cut too slim. Someone mentioned Men's warehouse. I might try that.

WOW! You're a beast!!
You should pm Jason Cutler on where he buys his clothes. They could be a little too tight for you, but it's worth a try.
BTW, did you fuck that redhead or was she just teasing you?
-
last suit i bought was in jc penny. trouble i have is that i wear a suit like 2 times every 5 years. when i go back to try it on, the pants don't fit, or i have outgrown the jacket from lifting alot. any good dept store can fit you bro. they tape measure you. i have the same problem. only i am short, but i have a broad built chest and back. my neck is almost an 18 too!

taylor made is best when you can afford it
