You mean that thing that resembles a non-distended waistline??

It's so sad that these guys looked better as amateurs. The nature of the sport has forced this "bigger is better" judging and the drug usage climbs and climbs...

I often wonder if these guys are bothered, or even angry, that they are forced to ruin their bodies in order to remain competitive enough to earn a living?

I really wish we could go back to the look of the late 80s and early 90s. AHney, Gaspari, Labrada, Ray, Yates(pre-1994), Cormier, Cottrell... Man, this soprt was so much better 15 years ago.

Bodybuilding. Where moving forward means regressing.

yes.

makes you wonder why, or how it is that that happens.

everyone will cry insulin that doesn't know better, but i don't think its insulin that is causing bodies today to look 'worse' than their NPC days (branch warren comes to mind also).

can the body only take much much chemical abuse before it starts to turn itself 'off', resulting in the loss of hardness and shape that so many NPC guys past/ present display?

look at the mid 90's- physiques were looking the best they ever were. just long enough for those using GH and insulin to have made the optimal gains, but not long enough to have shown signs of overuse?

just a thought.
