Ah, such an existential question!
Depends how you look at. The Roman emperor and philosopher Marcus Aurelius believed that everything followed a specific patter or order (the Laws of Nature). So, in fact, even a choice you think you make on your own is not really a free choice because it was already prescribed by the Laws of Nature.
If you really want to read about this, some good authors are Nietzsche, Sartre, Albert Camus, Doestovsky, Kierkegaard, Kafka and tons of others who offer insight into Free Will.

Humanoids have more freedom today than ever before in humanoid history.
come on lol

come on lol
Cavemen were pretty free! Imagine grunting whatever and beating up rivals with a club. No greater freedom than that.
-
...if this "God" character is truely omnipitant( all knowing) as religious fanatics claim, then free will cannot exist. If I'm supposed to turn left instead of right, then I have to turn left...apparently "God" has already made this "decision" for me...haha ..what a bunch of nuckleheads

AND....they skipped the foreplay... it was straight up bend over and off you go.

In the earlier days humanoids were bound to a tribal society where death and internal battles for domination were common. Humanoids died young, could not read nor did they know much about anything.
In the 1600s humanoids were still plagued by the problems written about earlier, but science had come much further.
Still humanoids did not have technology, and beliefs were forced on them.
Thus, there were little spiritual freedom and a lot of manual labour and still a short life expectancy.
Today, humans are much more free. We still have problems, but we debate these problems in public, we have the internet, and we do not need to do much hard manual labour any more (like gathering food, and shit) because the technology does it for us.
We can choose the lifestyle we want, and we can choose to believe what we want. There are interest groups for basically everything between heaven and earth. 200 years Ago, you might have been milking cows or cut cotton at this time, but today you can eat your protein shake and sit on Getbig.
You can basically design your own life today, and practically everything in it by being smart and adding the work. Human history dates back perhaps 40000 years. Only in the last 50 years have this "life designing" opportunity been able to most people in the pinnacle of human development (the west). This is called freedom. And besides some religious nutbars and the stupid people around, you have the freedom to express your own opinions and live your life according to your convictions. -> the last 50 years.
It is only during the last 10 years that it's been ok to be a fag in public.
Freedom my friend, freedom.
We have more freedom today than ever, and humans will get more and more freedom in the years to come.
:)
No, they were not. They had to fight every day, just to stay alive, and they were doomed to a pathetic existence in a cave, hunting for food all their lives. Today you can read a book, buy a hooker and eat a steak.
SO...........you don't believe in God..obviously
-
The mainstream religious concept of god? Of course not, believing in any religious dogma is irrational and counter productive for achieving an optimal life.
Gary Busey = my god.
LOL..that's farkin hilarious
