Title: love handles
Post by: smaul on December 12, 2007, 01:47:07 AM
How to get rid of these if they don't seem to be fat?  I do deadlift, but definitely not enough to give me a thick waist.  I have visible abs but the love handles are still too large.  is this genetic?  Anything specific that can be done about it?

diet and cardio.

When I dieted recently I stopped because I was starting to look to skinny everywhere else.  Maybe I dieted too extreme?  The love handles didn't go.

Genetics are a bitch.  Are you training obliques?  If so stop.  Are you training your abs?  If so stop.

I don't train obliques, and I train abs three times a week, three sets each day.  With varied exercises, so you reccon I should cut these out?

I've added a pic from when I'd dieted down.  Fat or muscle?

You are still carrying some fat man.  But the easy fix to your problem is to layoff the ab work,  continue cutting,  and work on broadening your shoulders more.

I'm paranoid about completly cutting out ab work.  Will drop it some.  Shoulders have always been an issue, suffer from a bum-right shoulder.  Not that that should be an excuse!

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, EVEN WHEN I WOULD CUT WEIGHT FOR WRESTLING I STILL HAD LARGE LOVE HANDLES/OBLIQUES. INSTEAD I FOCUSED ON BACK WIDTH, AND LAT RAISES. THIS CHANGED MY LOOK ALOT. I WOULD SAY FOCUS YOUR WORKOUTS FOR THE NEXT 16 WEEKS ON ADDING SHOULDER WIDTH. LOTS OF LAT RAISES, REAR LAT RAISES, AND PRESSES. AS WELL AS SOME BACK WIDTH. CHINS, PULL UPS, ROWS, AND THEY WONT BE AS VISIBLE. ALSO YOU ARE STILL FAIRLY SMALL FOR BODYBUILING. 10 POUNDS OF MUSCLE WOULD CUT THAT DRAMATICALY.
