I dont know how many of you are hockey fans but how about Chris Simon of the NY Islanders stomping with the blade of his skate on Pittsburgh's Jarko Ruutu ankle area on his skate boot. Chris Simon recieved a 30 game suspension breaking the old record of 25 game suspension which was also held by him. This guy is a descent hockey player but there has to come a point when the commisioner Gary Betman has to say enough is enough in reagrds to the rest of the players safety. Now dont get me wrong I LOVE hockey grew up playing it from 6 years old till I was 21 playing in Juniors and got injured more times then I can count, but the fact that hockey is a brutal sport does not excuse this type of behavior. I mean this incident is criminal, I mean he could have severed a tendon or worse. IMHO he needs to go out of the league and if possible out of organized sports, at least any where he can physically participate.

he just got done a 25 game suspension...it seems like a pretty weak suspension considering the guy is a frequent offender...just got done his 25 games this year and has not learned or changed his ways...

Yea I wouldnt normally recomend to suspend someone from the game but in this case i think it has to be done number one for the safety of the players and number two to set an example that this type of behavior will not go unpunished... i mean there are a few other cases that i think that the NHL commisioner has been to lenaint on, but it has got to stop.

30 games is a joke. he should have been gone the rest of the season( about 50 games) plus playoffs and been warned that anymore acts like this would result in a ban from the league.
hes taken a leave of absence from the team ...hopefully he just wont come back. guys a black stain on the sport
