You sound like someone who is, if not entirely disgruntled, is pretty far from being gruntled. What gives Figgs?
-
I'm not disgruntled at all, in fact I'm feeling incredibly hopeful about America becoming the land of the free once again. People are waking up to this message; peace, liberty, and limited government. It seems like Ron Paul is simply an unstoppable force at thie point.
lol btw I just saw Falling Down for the first time Sunday. ;D

I don't know man. I wish the best for the US and it's people but I think you were more on target with your George Carlin posts.
As the Grateful Dead said, "The people may know but the people don't care," so long as there's sports on TV, beer in the fridge and the McNuggets are cheap. Moreover, those at the top didn't get there by representing the best interests of "the people."
I hope someone can turn it around and get the people empassioned about their country and their lives, but laziness and complacency are so pervasive that it's not just accepted, it's expected. For example, from a fitness standpoint: go to the supermarket or the mall - I bet you're the odd one out and all the lard asses stare at you "'cause you're diffurnt."
There doesn't seem to be anything working to equalize the scales which are becoming progressively more unbalanced regarding the distribution of wealth (not just a US problem, but one which the US should be leading the fight against). IMO, it won't be more than a generation of 2 before it's a lot like "The Running Man," but with an unofficial caste system. Things are almost that way now.
On the upside, the greatest artistic, cultural, and scientific advancements have, on the whole, historically come from societies with an entrenched ruling class. I hope the rest of us are happy to shovel shit. Most seem to be.
Yeah, meltdown. ::)
You're passionate about you cause Figgs. That's what it's all about. Carry on.

Meltdown continues.
It's weird. I'm not religious, but it's almost like the devil came along and offered up all these goodies which appealed to the baser side of human nature (7 deadly sins springs to mind), and in so doing distracted people from pursuing loftier goals. The people have been duped, but the most tragic thing is that they don't have to be.
History should record the US as one of the great civilizations (or at least systems of government), but it won't unless there are some profound changes made. The people need to get off their asses! Understand issues, vote, hold their leaders accountable. Of the people, by the people, and for the people dammit! It's really heartbreaking to see what has become of the Founding Father's vision (yes, I know the "of, by, for" thing is from Lincoln).
*I agree that other countries are suffering from the same maladies. I'm from the US though, and I choose to hold it to the higher standard to which it ought to, and claims to, aspire. I still consider myself a patriot.

well, you're right about people staring at ya when you have a reasonable about of muscular development, and they usually just don't stare, they also usually talk shite about ya amongst themselves >:( and for some people this is difficult to handle. like arthur jones once said, "you can hide wealth and intelligence, but you can't hide outstanding muscular development."

The person you hope could empassion the people is really out there. It started with Ron Paul and now it's the people themselves. So many others just like me have heard Ron Paul's message, learned that we have rights and a constitution and are willing to spread that message with a new passion for our future. I'm not the only one.

Whaddya's think? This ain't some whack job that was on the outside.....
Co-Chair of Congressional 9/11 Inquiry and Former Head of Senate Intelligence Committee Confirms White House Cover Up
The Co-Chair of the Congressional Inquiry into 9/11 and former Head of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Bob Graham, revealed that the White House refused to let the 9/11 inquiry interview one of the most important witnesses imaginable:
Senator Bob Graham, the Florida Democrat who is a former chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, accused the White House on Tuesday of covering up evidence that might have linked Saudi Arabia to the Sept. 11 hijackers.
* * *
The accusation stems from the Federal Bureau of Investigation's refusal to allow investigators for a Congressional inquiry and the independent Sept. 11 commission to interview an informant, Abdussattar Shaikh, who had been the landlord in San Diego of two Sept. 11 hijackers.
In his book "Intelligence Matters," Mr. Graham, the co-chairman of the Congressional inquiry with Representative Porter J. Goss, Republican of Florida, said an F.B.I. official wrote them in November 2002 and said "the administration would not sanction a staff interview with the source.'' On Tuesday, Mr. Graham called the letter "a smoking gun" and said, "The reason for this cover-up goes right to the White House."
This isn't some fresh-face kid talking. This is a consummate insider: the former head of senate intelligence and co-chair of the congressional 9/11 inquiry.
If the White House refused to allow an interview of a government informant who was landlord to two of the hijackers -- one of the most valuable leads it could possibly pursue -- what other investigations did it spike? And if the White House killed an investigation to, allegedly, protect its Saudi friends, how much more motivated would the White House have been to kill investigations into areas which implicated elements of the U.S. government itself?

America was free until 1913, when the Federal Reserve became the central bank.
