How do you think A.D. Cherry will do in his first pro show ? I am going to hope for a top 10 for him.

This is a stacked line-up. I like A.D. but if he does this show I don't see him placing top 10. I'd rather see him take some time off, add some size to his legs and compete later in the year or early next year. He stands a much better chance competing later in the year and by doing this show could wind up being just be another body on the Arnold stage. Huge honor to be invited to this show though.

I hear you loud and clear but how can I turn down the huge honor? People thought i should skip the Nationals but in my heart I knew I had the desire and drive and once again here we are and my heart says if they want it THEY GOT IT I'll bring 5- 10 lbs more that's it. Same conditioning I was 220 when i won at Nationals 225 the yr before for 2nd so same cond. and 225 is realistic. My victory comes in standing on stage with such proven athletes, and this is beginning of becoming one. happy holidays to all and best wishes for 08. too everyone fan, friend or not A.D. CHERRY

This mean you're going to jump into the IRONMAN? Hell why not you're already committing to the Arnold and top 5 qualify for the Olympia at the IM.

Yes, doesn't matter where you place, it's an honor just to be there. Good luck!

I disagree. Every bodybuilder is looking for sponsorship and endorsements, if you don't place well you diminish your value to a company. Unless of course one wishes to have honor and trade for supplements. (Speaking in general terms and not specifically about A.D.)

Oh wow i cant hardly wait for the 'show' ::)
Nice to see Dennis Wolf there ::)

Wheres Kamali? WTF ;D

True, but ASC is one of the biggest BB events and competing there means exposure.

I wouldn't be going if I didn't think It would benefit me .Whether it be personal or financial I'm 110% motivated to bring to the stage what bodybuilding is missing(in my opinion) Trade for supplements?what's that all about? I've been competing since 1994 and now I'm going to the Arnold and I'm bringing my Camera! If you need supplements go to FIT FACTORY modesto or manteca great prices even greater people. Supplements isn't my fortay!

There a strong Competitors from outside the US onstage...
Sazali Abd./Malaysia Santos/Brasil Maggiori/Italy Piotrkowicz/Poland (these are all IFBB world Champions)
But also others which also can give these Word Champions a hard time onstage...like Tarek Elsethoui
(he is egyptian, but train, compete, and live in Germany for the last years, and starts for germany since 2 years ago)
-
Ronny Rockel 2 weeks ago, 3 weeks out of the Arnolds....

I disagree. Every bodybuilder is looking for sponsorship and endorsements, if you don't place well you diminish your value to a company. Unless of course one wishes to have honor and trade for supplements. (Speaking in general terms and not specifically about A.D.)
It depends on the situation. A number of bodybuilders get signed as "amateurs" and the company chronicles their journey to winning a national title and an IFBB pro card. MuscleTech was famous for that back in the 90s, starting with their initial guinea pig, Greg Kovacs. Other bodybuilders who worked for MuscleTech as NPC competitors en route to winning pro cards include:
Mat Duval
Idrise Ward-El
Jeramy Freeman
Mike Dragna
Tevita Alolehi
Mike Platz
Ander Onsay
Aaron Maddron
Of course, that doesn't necessitate success at the pro level. But may of these guys have been with the company for years. Kovacs spent at least 5 years with MuscleTech; Duval claims to have been there for about 8; and Freeman (if he's still with MuscleTech) spent nearly a decade there.
