Hopefully I'll never be in that situation to find out. :-\

It's hard to say I guess...it would have to depend on the situation. If someone was being eaten by a great white shark, odds are less that I'd jump in on that one if it were a stranger :-[ If it were my husband I'd probably try to do something though.

Oh, if you put it that way it would depend on my mood at the time and what I knew or didn't know about the person I was able to trade places with.

That said, my wife and my kid brother are the hands down, I'd die for them without a doubt answer.

Boy oh boy I had a mad new year. Spent it with a girlfriend I've known since I was a child, plus her hubby and their 14 year old girl child. Fortunately, there was also another set of her friends there, a married couple who have been together for 20 years, they have two now grownup children (I'd met them all once maybe ten years ago... Lovely people. Turns out they live near me in London.

The dynamics... Holy shit. Makes you wonder. I got home from Cambridge about 1pm (it's 3 now) and cried for two hours. I'm so glad I didn't get married and have kids. I just spent the most wierd two days imaginable.

So I'm rejoicing in the fact that I am single and
Wouldn't have to lie and pretend I'd die for anyone.

...Maybe my country. That I'd give my life for if I had to. If there was war (like the real one my parents survived and their parents fought in and the one before that which my grandparents thankfully lived through)...

If I'd lived during either of the world wars I would have done all I could.

But nowadays there's no point.
