I'm not sure; are there any beer conspiracies that might tickle his fancy?

More like the gassiest beer in the world. Dare you to skull one.

Perhaps this is one good reason why you should not skol a Duvel.....

We used to tell newbs at a place in Belguim that they had to skull one to be "in the club." ::) One guy actually made it (and kept it in).
If you're keen on the Belgian beers, Hoegaarden (correctly pronounced "who-har-den", but no one will know what you're talking about) is good and very drinkable on a hot day. Leffe makes some good stuff, but it's very flavorsome and borders on being syrupy, so not as good in the heat. Both are comparatively expensive in Aus. Then again so is Budweiser, so why not get the good stuff? :D

I think he'd say that Budwieser and all its various brands fool the American public by selling water.. This lack of alcohol keeps the public from questioning the official 9/11 report.
Did that make sense?

Not from you it didn't! Can I have 240 re-quote it?

Not a massive Hoegaarden fan, although I did have a litre stein of one in Sydney once for the novelty effect - good for a warm day. Leffe is definitely worth a try.
I have a 'Bush' in the fridge at the moment that I'll be drinking sometime this weekend - the reason I only have one is the 12% alcohol content - powerful stuff for a beer.

thats probably the most overrated beer of all time...to me it is hardly different than coors light. i mean Duvel absolutely SUCKS.
best beer of all time - that ive tried - is either Trappistes Rochefort (10 and 8) and the Weihenstephaner Hefe is up there as well.

;D in all honesty tho ive tried ALOT of beers in my time and i cant think of one that was more disappointing than Duvel.

Interesting, was it a one-off beer or have you had several? Over this Christmas period I've pretty much tried every beer I can get my hands on and nothing has impressed me more.
I've had a couple in a wine glass and if you close your eyes you could be mistaken for drinking an excellent white minus the acidity and with the addition of a few beer-like characteristics.
-
One of these 2 isn't bad.

Haha - I invite those that don't know the difference to make the comparison (assuming you can get your hands on the rare and beautifully crafted Victoria Bitter)...
-
I would say Speights pride of the South.
-
Ska: Pinstripe Red Ale.
Becks
Guinness
A couple Fosters (Australian for beer) now and again can't hurt either.

For me, VB spells beer (in Australian) better than Fosters ever did - thus their export size bottles geared at the London market...

i havent tried it again, so i guess it could have been a skunky bottle. another thing that pissed me off tho is it had the moast foaming of any beer ive ever seen, i poured literally like 2 ounces into the glass and the whole thing filled up and overflowed with foam immediately, you can wait 10 full minutes and there will still be a thick head on that shit.
-
How about HUARI? Only the real beer masters will know what am i talking about
*edit* I was able to get 100 bottles last week and tonight i drank like 13 oh yeah , best beer ever

Yes, it must be handled with care when pouring or you risk ruining it. For me, anytime you get 3/4 of a mouth full of foam it isn't great. Temp is important for this too, we all love having an icy beer (especially in today's heat) but this needs to be a touch warmer.

I seriously want a beer right now,
my favourite would be trappistes rochefort 10
-
sam adams FTW!!! ;D
-
Redhook and Blackhook were fucking great until Bud or someone bought 'em out in the 90s. Saddest part: No one even noticed the difference. It was like night and day.

good choice

beer raises your estrogen levels and contributes to excess calories which cause your body to store fat in places you don't want it to...

We drink the ol VB like its going out of fashion. Its 30 bucks a box(24 cans or stubbies) here In Victoria or 39 bucks for a 30 box. Crown Lager is better, not sure if you can get it in USA. Its brewed by Carlton and United breweries here in Victoria Australia. Fosters is shisenhousen. No one drinks it here.

Beer is good for your health.

Too great of thread...i just came home from closing at work and i stumble upon this thread...we ALWAYS have WHO-har-den on tap (not to be confused with HOEgarrden!! HA! HA!) and it goes in its own special glass. Right now we have the Leffe Brown on tap but sell both (the brown and blonde) in the bottle.

We sell the 6, 8 and 10 in the bottle. Westmalle makes a good triple also. Never heard of that Hefe, though. We have Paulaner on tap and then a local brewery one too.

I know anheiser bush beer generally sucks but their bourbon cask all is fucking awesome!! I had one on tap at old chicago and at the first drink I felt like that seen in beerfest. Seriously you guys should try it.
Lost Coast also makes some pretty damn good beers.
If your just drinking to get shit faced though nothing beats good ol' natty light! Tastes like water. You can kill about 15 of these easy. ;)
-
St. Pauly girl dark lager is tasty.
Bittburger from Germany is also pretty good.
-
Carlsberg is good sometimes

I'm belgian but i honestly don't know that much about beer.
Duvel is pretty good, but not that special imo. Goes to your head quick too for some reason. There was a challenge for a guy to drink ten of them in one hour. After the sixth he got alcohol poisoning and had to be brought to the hospital.
Anyway, i kinda like westvleteren, westmallen, leffe,...
But most of the time i just drink regular pils.

OMG. Just OMFG. Please don't tell us you drink that Stella/Estrella stuff. And you call yourself a Belgian! >:(
Get some fritchen and a Geuze immediately before you turn into a dutchman.

I used to drink hoeys like water (got 'em for free where I worked in Brugge) but never saw 'em outside Belgium. Over the last 5 years or so, it seems like that company has been pushing hard. Now you can find 'em just about anywhere. I hope they keep their quality up.

VB and Crownies, eh? So how's the roof tiling business these days?

I just tried a new beer today-Carlton DRY Fusion, they have put some natural Lime in it and salt, its not too bad either. But I spose it wouldnt be available overseas. Best thing is its made with LOW carbs
