Title: Learning Spanish
Post by: windsor88 on December 28, 2007, 09:42:31 PM
How long did it take those of you who are Native English speakers to grasp the Spanish Language and speak fairly fluently?  I go to Mexico a few times a year and would at least like to know what these fucks are saying and to lay the smack down when appropriate. I know a few basic things but not enough to carry a conversation.

would you rather learn 10,000 complex chinese symbols? relatively speaking, spanish is one of the easier languages for an english speaker to learn imo. not to say its a piece of cake, but its easier than most others.

As for your reference:

Me quiero pisar a tu madre
Me quiero comer a tu madre
Me quiero culiar a tu madre
Me quiero penetrar a tu madre
Me quiero coger a tu madre

Is the same as saying "i want to fuc-k your mother"

And i know theres more, and all of them are valid phrases, not slang sh1t.
This might be the reason our friend cant understand what those mexis say, because they fuckup spanish with english/mexi words and make up a whole new language.

Last time I flew into the US they made announcements in English and Spanish, and I was coming from Sydney into Hawaii.  Wtf!  >:(

Now that the US has two official languages I'm sure you'll have plenty of opportunity to practice.

I hope you are talking about PR, DR, Cuban and Columbian women.  I've had 2 Mexican girlfriends.  Some of the women hold up well with age but after 30 or so I dont need to say much more.

I'm getting pretty good at spanish, but  then again, my first language is french, and they have some similarities.

I'm learning it too. As with every other language, you need a lot of practise to become fluent.

If you just want a good base, a couple of months can do it. Every day an hour or something like that, and i can read a newspaper and do some small talk: "Chica, quieres venir conmigo a mi habitacion? Tengo una cama comoda  ;)." Maybe it helps that i speak some french too. I think I'm gonna take some lessons soon to work on my speaking skills.

If you want to have decent discussion you'll need longer of course, but it all depends how much time you focus on it. Practise and consistency is key: better to do 20 mins every day than three hours on a sunday afternoon.

2. "you put finger in butt, I give double money"

Spanish is simple, just immerse yourself in the culture and have no AM/or WASP pretensions and you should be good to go. In MD, you have more EL Salvadorians and Guatamalans than other ethnic spanish peoples. So you hear a different Spanish accent than a Mexican. It's funny when people come up to you and say, " 'Cuse mi, you speka bunny? ('Spanish' real quick sounds like 'bunny')."    I want to learn Portuguese..

Get the Rosetta Stone course. There is European and Latin American Spanish versions. Growing up I learned a little Mexican American Spanish (old neighborhood) which is called pocho by some. Poor dialect and bad Spanish to say the least. Native Mexicans laugh at it. With the Rosetta Stone you can lean fairly fast. Memory has nothing much to do with learning on this course. Or repeating a lot of endless drills.

If anyone has a little computer smarts than go to most any torrent for a download of Rosetta Stone. Pretty easy to set up. Good Luck.

I took 4 years of spanish in high school and after graduating went down to tijuana in my boys escort to score some hookers and drink beer.  Needless to say we found both!!  However at the end of the night when we stumbled our drunk asses back to the car it was locked up behind some fence.  My spanish was good enough to find some cop in a bar, who was actually having a drink, and he came and unlocked it for us.  Scared the tequila straight out of me ;D

As for the spanish now I cant remember shit!  Use it or lose it man.

Yo quiero/preferio chicas bionitas por $30.. Es mas importante que este chicas tengan cuerpos calientes.

spanish pussy is great. Once you get past the incoherent drivel, it's nice ass, weak character and taking them out to McDonalds, where you touch only a quarter of the food, while they think it's something out of Zagat. hahahahaha

Seriously, man... Those bitches would find a bar with peanuts similar to the Four Seasons or Tavern on the Green. I know it sounds rather LOW, but these women are hot and some are nice to actually spend time with. Still there's the countless incoherent drivel, them not wanting anything other than Corona, and no blow on sundays because they're like 'strict' catholics. hahahahahahaha  ;D

Easy? sir i think you are pretty wrong. So many USELESS verbs tenses and tildes, its a big mess.

yeah, there are 27 verb tenses or something like that.  Learn how to speak present and past tense verb forms/conjugation, everyday nouns, adjectives and adverbs and you'll be fine.  it would take you about 6 months to be conversational.  Easy language and it makes hitting on latinas easier.
