One person said the following:
You don't bring up the infraction w/the "offender" again.
You no longer bring up the infraction to others.
You try not to think about the infraction further yourself.
How do you know if you've truly forgiven someone?
-
forgive and you move on. but forgiving someone doesn't absolve their wrongdoing. So just learn from the experience.
-
Better to get even than to forgive. >:(

when that person no longer rents space in your head. but, the real thing is that you NEVER forgive the person's act. you forgive the person themselves.

when you can talk about the infraction with the person and understand why it was made (IF it was an infraction at all)
misunderstandings account for a huge percentage of resentments

The Question should be, "How do you know you're forgiven?"
