Title: prize money? how much would be correct for mr.o and other top shows?
Post by: Tom on January 03, 2008, 07:21:42 AM
what does everyone think should be the appropriate amount for winning the O and other placings in that show? and other top shows the arnold, etcetera.

as it stands now, even the winner (cutler) spends half the amount in his mr.o prize money winning for first place on food and ahem other supplements, so he's not winning too much in the long run and it's the prestige of winning the O which leads to more publicity and other money making projects far more lucrative than winning the show which is weird and unfortunate!

The prize money for the Mr Olympia should be 120 grand and for the other top shows from the Ironman to the Arnold and various pro show shows range from 30 grand for the Ironman and 65 grand for the Arnold as for the other pro shows the money should be 20 or 30 grand.

Jay probably gets paid well from his contract, guest posting, investments.. He's not like Troy Alves selling tickets 10 minutes before stepping on stage.

Ditto.

Bodybuilders, like everyone else in the workforce, should be awarded the market value for what they do, and that is not very much.

They should do it just for the love of the "sport."  Oh, and a nice plastic trophy.  Hey wait, that's what they do now.

I also think each competitor should get a price no matter how they place.....from the mr. O himself with his 150k to the last competitor who would get maybe 1000-2000$ (ifbb is rich y know, they can make this happen as lond as they want  :-\).....

bb should improve!  8)
