Pretty weak lineup, I bet you'll see a few people add their name to the list just to get one of those top 5 olympia nods.

Good to see BABELL Palumbo still visits getbig to get his info. Doesn't even take the time to fix misspellings.
;D

I thought heath said he was doing the ironman?
-
That is not an accurate competitor list.
From IRONMAN's Lonnie Teper:
"With a couple of days left until the deadline of January 4, Gustavo Badell has turned in his contract; I'll let you know in my blog after Friday if the other major stars who have said they are doing the show--Toney Freeman, Phil Heath, Silveo Samuel, David Henry and Will Harris, to name a few--follow suit. Henry told me this week he's in for sure; gentleman Omar Deckard will be back as well. Shaping up to be a great line-up."

Epic inability to spell the name of his own company's endorsed athletes. Good thing Victor Marbinez and Branch Barren aren't doing the show!
-
Branch Barrel
fixed.
-
I thought that myself when I read article about the 2008 Ironman on the ironman pro web site Phil Heath name got mention in the article along with Tony Freeman name as well. But I am going pick Tony Freeman to win.
-
fixed.
HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!
-
This show is definetely toney freemans chance to redeem himself after his poor olympia showing.
Good luck Toney.
-
Nasser would destroy this line-up.
300 pounds with abs = lights out!

Apparently Babell is no longer an MD sponsored athlete?

He hasn't been arrested in 12 months, that's breach of contract at MD.
-
I thought Dennis Newman would make his comeback at the ironman.

After winning last year, I would think that Freeman would sit this one out. The person who needs to really redeem himself is David Henry. He kicked ass at the Olympia but at the Iron Man last year he dissapointed. Henry was supposed to give Freeman a run for his money last year but it didnt happen.
I thought Will Harris was doing the show? If he was, I would be really watching out for him.

I'd disagree. Toney has to redeem himself from his last show (Olympia), which I'm sure he will. David redeemed himself at the Olympia and showed he can hold his own against guys with more size. David might not be the biggest guy on stage but when he's in condition watch out.
Harris is doing the show and if he brings the conditioning he had at the Europa/Olympia will be top 5.
-
I'd love to see Jojo Ntiforo in shape for once
MONSTER potential on this guy, very Melvin Anthonyish physique
-
All athletes have until midnight tonight to get their contracts in...I think you may be surprised at some names to appear...
-
What? No Hide :)?
-
I'm pretty sure when Heath was guest posing in wisconsin that he said he was doing the ironman. Wonder what happened there. Also, when did Denis Sergovsky turn pro?

Did you guys giave Sami a pro card yet? Come on, he'd be top 5 Ironman.

In the past Henry has always been in top condition for the Iron Man, In 06 he took a controversial second to Lee Priest.
then the next year he finishes 6th. He was off and surely wants redemption and after his tenth place finish at the O, Im sure he will want a win.
Im sure Tony will want to prove he can bring it! If Henry is dialed in and Freeman is dialed in, it should be a battle, the nod will most likely go to the taller man.
I didnt see Wills name on the competitor list. If will brings that condition he brought to the Europa, its on!

Oh no really really stupid Hide is!!! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
He could be in top 5 in this lineup.... JUST STUPID!!
-
Hidetada unfortunately will not be able to compete in the Ironman and Arnold. If all goes well, maybe the August shows... but right now, he has more important things to work on.
David Henry, Toney Freeman, Gustavo Badell all should place in top 5, but this isnt an official list, as I have talked to a few others who want to compete.

It looks like Jason trains his dick there a bit.

I saw Denis S. in the gym recently and it appears that he just might do darn well in the IronMan ...... Bigger, thicker, wider than any of his recent recent photos.
Good to see that he is eligible to compete this year.
Good luck, Denis.

Why does Denis need that kind of help for 3 plates? I can do 3 plates for reps.
-
315 for 30 - Maybe?
Or could be coming down gradually from 495.

Yes, it will be a big surprise when Lee Priest is on the list.
Also, I saw Jeffers posing today in Maximum Fitness. Dude is ageless. He put on some freaky back thickness. Dorian like lower lats with mid 90's waist. Crazy. Lol, Lee told him to put some clothes on and everyone started laughing.
-
I trained alongside Denis this past summer during a shoot in Vegas. He's impressive! Not sure he has everything to challenge the big guys, but his shape and structure is awesome. In time he'll be a force.

Denis Sergovskiy won the Super Heavyweight class at the LA last. Didn't even win the overall. Lost it to a welterweight. Where did he qualify to turn IFBB pro?

I was at that show. He looked good but that welterweight was spot on. No way anyone at that show was going to beat him. Denis' symetry and proportions were great, I just hope he put on enough mass to compete in the pros. The early shows might not have been a good idea and should pack on some more size. You can see in these photos from LA if he comes in a bit softer from the rear, he will wind up in last place in a pro show. Anyone have pics from the Russia show where he turned pro? Would like to see if any changes were made...hmmm...

new competitors:
Vincent Liu (Canada ,pics 1,2)
Neset Icli (Holland ,pics 3,4 )
