Ed Soares, the manager for Lyoto Machida, has confirmed to MMAWeekly.com that Ultimate Fighting Championship officials have offered the Brazilian a fight against former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz.
According to Soares, Machida has accepted the fight and at this point, they are waiting to find out if Ortiz will accept the bout.
It would be an honor to fight such a legend as Tito Ortiz, said Machida. I would like to see how my technique matches up against his.

This could be a good fight, I could also Tito trying to get the lay and pray.

pretty sure dana wants to put wandy in there with someone he knows he can beat,I think another loss will take some of the luster off of wandys reputation if he goes 0-2 this time around in the UFC

I thought the same thing.
I'm pretty sure Dana doesn't want another crocop-situation.

That could be a good fight for Tito. I think he does better against grapplers than strikers...
-
I think Tito will ::)"...impose his will..." ::) on Machida! ;D

Good match up for tito

See Cote versus Tito, or Vitor versus Tito. Tito will grind out a UD, or win by cut stoppage. BTW, Tito is nowhere near as explosive as he once was. Back in the day, if he wanted you on the ground, there was no way of stopping it.

If Tito brings the same lackluster game he brought to the Rashad fight, he'll have his hands full. I hear it has to do with reoccurring back injuries...

Herniated L4, L5. Hasn't been the same for a long time. He has had two surgeries for them already.
