Title: Already this year
Post by: BigBack on January 11, 2008, 08:55:10 AM
So, we are 11 days into the new year, and already, at my gym, the "Resolutioners" have:
Broken one cable crossover station
Broken one lat pulldown station.
Broken one 120 lb dumbell
Broken one 125 lb dumbell
Broken one arm curl machine
Broken 3 treadmills
Broken one eliptical
Lost both EZ bars

I absolutely cannot wait until these yahoos give up and leave!!!!

Pick up..throw to the ground, instead of re-rack...repeat!!!!
That is how you break dumbells.  Both were snapped at the handle.

I want to throw a dumbell at their heads!!!

why would a newbie even TOUCH a 125 pound DB?

Seriously, there should be more "calling out" in gyms, where you get a free month, or a Muscle Milk or something, for every dangerous newbie you report.

Exactly....usually there's a run on every 30lb db in the place for weeks after New Year's.

Easy, they attempt to press them and then they come crashing down to the ground. A few sets like that and your dumbbell looks like the letter C.

Jaejonna, does it make you feel big, to come on here and try to belittle people?
Say what you will.  Not gonna hurt my feelings.  You don't know me, so to assume that makes you look like an idiot.
I assure you that I am quite big and strong enough to handle that weight.  The peopleon here, who know me, can back it up.
Don't expect another response.  I have said my piece, and am done with you.

Ive never seen a broken dumbell over 90lbs.not saying it doesn't happen but Ive never seen it.I've seen alot of lighter dumbells broken 40-75lbs.mostly because of people that are idiots and drop them after a crushing set of 60lb dumbell bench presses.

Yes, there's nothin scarier than a 175lb beast droppin a pair of 50lb dbs after a set of shoulder presses.

luckily at my gym there are five 187 lb spotters to help catch the 45 pounders after 7 grunting reps.

interesting....... very strong "resolutioners" ya got there.....

at my gym all 30s seem to have been "misplaced", and 5-25 lb dumbbells are scattered all over the floor and among the cardio equipment.....

what crap place do you workout at? Machines and treadmills broken by some newbs, is this stuff made of cardboard? I can't imagine the strength that someone is gonna have when they break a 100 lb+ db on their first week in the gym.
