I know someone who had one about 4 months ago.  She's very pleased thus far (still healing).

A good friend of mine got one a few years ago...said it was very painful in terms of healing, but she was very very happy with the results.  I could tell a big difference when I saw her afterwards.    :)

I still say a good ab routine and cardio are the way to go.

I would agree with that for the most part, along with a good diet.   :)

I know a gal who wanted one badly but her husband didn't want to shell out the money.  She told me she had sent a video into that TV show where they do a lot of plastic surgery on people for free.  I think it was the Swan or Extreme Makeover or something.

I told her no way would they pic her because she is a beautiful woman and the contrast wouldn't be enough for the show.  Seems like people that wanted nosejobs usually got picked because of the dramatic change.

She didn't get picked but I saw her uncle months later and he told me she had gotten the tuck.  He said she was thrilled w/the results.

Unless the person is in an "awful" state surgery is never good.  These days people put surgery on par with going to the dentist - it is taken way to lightly....

Remember what happened to Kaye West’s mom?

There was nothing wrong with that woman that diet and exercise could not cure.  Her son was wealthy; she was a college professor; she had everything to live for, but none of it could save her from her low self esteem.

When she sought cosmetic surgery, a doctor declined to perform it because she had a preexisting condition that could endanger her life.  He told her this.  Instead of accepting it, she went doctor shopping until she found someone who would do it.  And now she is dead; all for the sake of vanity.  :'(

???  curious me , I'm thinking of a woman I saw who had lost a lot of weight but her skin was so stretched out , after her loss it really looked like an apron of skin hanging from her middle. It was literally hanging to her midthigh region.

Her underarm area looked like capes of skin that hung down also.

OH , it was horrible , I can't blame people who need the surgery for reasons like that , no amount of exercise or diet can replace the elasticity in the skin , when it's gone it's gone.

JMHO of course  :-[

To be honest i was just "entertaining" the idea...no matter how "thin" i get, i always carry a pooch...sometimes small, sometimes more bloated. In fact, i'm the type of girl that knows i've gained weight by my tummy. I also have had this "pooch" pre kids it just seems harder to get off since the 2nd one who will be 3 in March (then again, i just do cardio now but even before when i worked my ass off, i still had it).

I know people like that, but in my case it's not close so my reasoning for wanting to get it done is more vanity i guess than anything else.

I'm sure you look fabulous, Lisa. We all can't be at 3% bodyfat year round.

yeah!!    I would consider one, why not.  Especially for women, sometimes no matter what you do, it ain't going back to where it once was!!   I think someone should be close to their ideal weight, or at their ideal weight, and not using it as weight loss, but to "restore" their body.    If you are just doing a slight fixer upper one, they have a smaller procedure with a smaller scar, another reason to get in as good of shape as you can before doing that.

Yeah, that's the Mini-tuck.  Leaves a scar like a c-section I believe.

Well after seeing most of your pics ladies, I don't think you have to worry about pragnancy pooches or tucks.  :)
