Yeah I heard about this - apparently it won't be long before the UK is doing the same thing.

are you saying the most effective population reduction method would be for schools to teach girls to use their mouth?

I wasn't but I have decided thats quite the clever little angle, so yes, that is what I'm saying.

Why do they have to clone animals for food? Breeding isn't working?

Would have brought teh funny if you started two threads with same headline. ;)

For one they are trying to manufacture a disease free product that won't require immense antibiotics (I have no idea how successful they are at this)
Secondly, no, breeding is slow and costly, and as a result more than half of the world can't afford meat.

the antibiotics are because of the shitty husbandry practices they keep the animals in along with the inappropriate food they feed them. So they want to make an animal that can stand up to those conditions? I doubt that is possible.
They still have to impregnate a host animal. It's not like "poof" and they will have a full grown animal ready for slaughter.
Yahoo's in government who have personal interests are also pushing for GMO foods to NOT have to be labeled. Will they push for that with cloned animals too?
Maybe man should stop fuckign with shit.

Bad idea. >:(
What's the rush? I've pretty much given up red meat over the last year anyway.
