This could include anything from the promoters treating you with respect and dignity and actulally being glad you participated; fruit and water backstage; adequate and spaceous pump-up facilities replete with mirrors, benches, weights and towels, giving you time to pose; correcting the situation if you or your music malfunctions; promounces your name CORRECTLY to the audience; handing out lutrous (or, at least, adequate awards), etc.
Yes, yes, I know my bias is towards Mike Katz. No need to remind me of that.
However, in the 60 shows I have entered, he more than fulfills, with honor and humility , all of the above, and then some. I am sure some of you who have been in his shows agree.
I won the 1995 ANPPC CT show. When I went to lift my trophy, the little bb guy at the top 'snapped' off the rest of the trophy.
I was more embarrassed for the promoters than for me.

On the other hand, I was an entrant bin a show in Chicago about 20 years ago that was so bad, the prejdging took 6+ hours, with only 20 entrants.
I remember some guy named Pete Samra was handing out some shitty cheese/protein supplements backstage, with many becoming ill upon consuming them
They only paid attention to you at all if you were in the top two of your class ( I got 4th)

Anybody remember the Ed Jubinville Classics up at Mountain Park, Holyoke, Mass? Featured in PI?
THOSE were unbeatable...Joe Local...I am sure you recall these...Zane, Ferrigno, Katz, many others got their start there...

Incidentally, The NPC Elite that Quincy Roberts puts on every year in Greensboro, NC is always well-run and he consistantly has Top 10 Olympia caliber guest posers.
