Title: Pendelum Rows VS. Bent Over Rows
Post by: ngm21084 on January 19, 2008, 07:42:27 AM
Just wondering how many of you guys out there do the bent over rows and how many have tried the pendelum rows...i have been doin the bent over rows but today i tried the pendelum rows instead and i really liked them...its essentially the same move i think its just one starts from the ground and one doesnt...as long as there is no major issues with them i think i am going to utilize them for a while instead of bent overs...

yea it basically is just that with the pendelum rows after each rep it goes back to the floor making sure that there is no momentum in the row...i liked it..

u mean Pendlay rows, named after Glenn Pendlay. It's a stricter row, because you keep your back parallel to the floor. Yes you deload on the ground after every rep.

pendlay rows are more for starting deadlift strength than getting your lats big. reason being you go from resting to forcing your posterior chain to stabilize while the weight moves from the floor. the intension isn't to do some slow contraction, but rather to heave the weight up without moving your upper body from its position. yeah it'll work on your lats/whatever, but it's going to toast your hams/glutes a lot more.
